Worst pain ever in lower stomach amd back got up for toilet and had cold sweat and almost passed out

Nevermind91 · 01/11/2022 09:01

Those symptoms sound familiar to me. I used to be hit by a sudden attack like that every few months or so.
On the advice of a friend, I now have one cup of nettle tea a day. The pain hasn't happened since- two years now.
Apparently, apple cider vinegar can help too. Good luck- hope you get some answers.

mrswishywashy1 · 01/11/2022 09:05

Sounds like my symptoms when I had gallstones

Blocked · 01/11/2022 09:50

I had that when I had a big ovarian cyst. The cyst was twisting my Fallopian tube hence the severe pain. I remember reading a forum and someone saying 'if you had a cyst you wouldn't be on forums chatting about it' convinced myself I was just constipated...lost an ovary.

Had some salad and houmous kidney beandd before bed, sausage rolls earlier

The last few times I've eaten something with kidney beans, I've had excruciating pains afterwards. It's a recent development for me, but I've just accepted that I need to avoid them from now on.

Hopefully you're on the mend today!

Topsyturvy78 · 01/11/2022 10:28

I've been like that when I haven't drank enough. You sweat to cool the body down. Was sick as well.

Norovirus has been going around. Our local weatherspoons had to close. A number of staff, hotel guests and a lot locally have said they have had it and never felt so ill. Had to close the pub Friday night one of the busiest nights.

Mindthegap725 · 01/11/2022 10:38

Hope you are feeling better today op

The nausea, head swimming and cold sweats sounds like a vasovagal response to severe abdominal pain. Pretty common but really unpleasant.

This
I was going to mention this as my DS had an attack after struggling going to the toilet and it's happened to me twice, I thought I was having a stroke the first time
It can be quite common
Hugs OP hope you are ok

Isthisnowmylife · 01/11/2022 10:47

I’m not a doctor but I suspect this is likely linked to gall bladder. Have you recently lost a bit of weight?

Flyingf1edgelings · 01/11/2022 10:50

Sounds like bad constipation. I was kept over night in hospital because of it the pain is level of labour. Doctors said it was very dangerous.

HopScotchBump · 01/11/2022 10:52

The hiccups and nausea to me sound like a gallbladder issue.. I hope you get an answer soon OP x

Want2beme · 01/11/2022 11:05

Very similar to my own experience. First time it happened was horrendous. I thought I was on my way out. I think it's an IBS flare up, but not 100% sure, as I haven't had a diagnoses. I've had many of these, but not so much in the last few years. The last time I experienced a full-on episode, I was very poorly with vomiting as well. I've had tests, but no conclusion. When I'm going through it, I just want to die, and that's not an exaggeration.

Hope you're feeling much better. It's very draining, so rest as much as you can.

MmeArnault · 01/11/2022 11:11

I had these exact symptoms before, OP and it was gallstones/kidney stones. Horrible. Weirdly a cup of very hot tea used to make a big difference. I hope you find out what it was and that it doesn't come back. Flowers

Propertyporn · 01/11/2022 11:18

So I have a urine infection. Gp was wonderful and took a urine sample straight away. I've been given antibiotics and been told to come back if pain doesn't go and she'll send me for a scan.

Massive thank you and unmumsnetty hugs for all the responses and those that chatted to me in the night. I've been struggling a lot with loneliness and being the only one here for the dc and this almost tipped me over the edge.

MmeArnault · 01/11/2022 11:24

ah! I wouldn't make a very good doctor, would I? Glad you had a quick diagnosis OP, hopefully the antibiotics will work well and quickly. Are you taking painkillers as well?

HarlanPepper · 01/11/2022 11:41

Glad to hear it's something straightforward and I hope you feel better very soon.

PollyAmour · 01/11/2022 11:45

I'm so glad you have seen a doctor and been given a diagnosis and treatment. It's really scary being ill and on your own. Plenty of fluids (barley water is excellent for UTIs) and lots of rest. I recommend curling up on the sofa with a good book and snooze the day away.

Get well soon 🌹

OrangePumpkinLobelia · 01/11/2022 11:55

So pleased you were seen and know now. Many hugs to you. Being alone in pain and with DCs to look after is a scary place. Thanks

Oh op you poor thing.but I’m so glad you persisted and got a diognosis. Well done you.so often we sit and jot do anything about it.
there’s often folk on here through trauma and night op so never be afraid to come on for some luv and support.
soemtimes just opening the door to the kids and watching them breathe for a while can really help that feeling.
stres and anxiety is incredibly linked to your tummy and gut so try to keep calm now and get back on peaceful feelings as that won’t help the tummy otherwise.

this will pass. Your on the meds now.keep nourished and hydrated with the meds even if you feel tender.

OP came here to ask what was wrong with them. This is not how to access medical information. That is important to know. OP did not access medical help until after it was suggested.

Sorry but that's the kind of thing that responsible adults, especially with dependents, should be able to do. Crowdsourcing a diagnosis on an internet forum is actually dangerous and should not be encouraged at all whatsoever.

It would probably help you if you spent more time investing in solid relationships offline, so you don't end up alone and with nobody to help you or your kids next time you get sick. It's not good to have no support network around in an emergency.

Propertyporn · 01/11/2022 12:18

@kateandme Thank you for the kind words 😊
