Hi @BlackberryCat, If ypur back pain had been slightly higher up I would have suggested a kidney infection, as I was hospitalised with one and my symptoms were similar, but they started slightly higher up in my back, then spread to my front - right hand side, and then down to my groin area too.
As yours is where it is, I am thinking maybe a urine infection? They can be extremely painful. Can you try to have some sips of cooled boiled water (if possible), but don't wait for a just boiled kettle to cool down; bottled spring or mineral water - as long as it isn't fizzy - or even tap water, should be fine. But please do try to listen to your body, and if it doesn't want you to have anything then don't until you have had some advice.
However, unless you are going to need an operation, staying hydrated is very important, and could help flush out any toxins, and hopefully small sips won't make you be sick, or be too much of a hindrance on the off chance you do need an op.
If there is anyone who can come to your home ASAP to stay with your children then I think that would be a very good idea, as it certainly sounds either like a kidney or urine infection, or kidney/gall stones. If it is the first then you will need to take antibiotics, hopefully orally, so that you can take them at home, but you may well need a scan at A & E before you can be diagnosed.
Also, as the symptoms have worn off for now, it could be a grumbling appendix, or even a problem with your heart, as I think that women can get stomach pains when having heart problems, so please don't let 111 think that you are fine now! If the symptoms do come back they could be even worse than before, so I really do think you should go to A & E for a check-up.
Sorry OP, I really don't want to scare you, or sound overly dramatic, and I know that you obviously don't want to have to wake your DC up, and take them with you, so I am back to the point where I feel that I need to advise you again to get someone you trust to come and look after your DC, if you can think of anyone at all who will do so.
If you refuse to go to hospital for a check-up you will definitely need to drop a urine sample off at your GP's surgery later this morning (but as early as possible, and ask a Dr or nurse to check it straight away). If you do have a nasty infection you will not feel up to looking after your children, and a mild infection shouldn't have caused such a severe reaction, so again you will need someone else with you to look after your DC.
Hopefully, if you haven't gone to A & E (but I do hope that you have) you are fast asleep now, but when you get a chance, can you let us know how you are please. 💐
