The saddest songs

After going down a You Tube rabbithole this evening, I've just watched Judi Dench performing Send In The Clowns and I've never felt so desolate. Do you have a sad song that just gets you in the feels? I fear I may never be the same again!

Grace - Jim McCann
💚💚💚💚

I love that too @ParkheadParadise.
Jim Mc Cann has such a lovely voice.
He too died too young.
Have you heard him sing "Easy and Slow" ?
It's beautiful.
Rod Stewart did a version of Grace but Jim's is better imo.

Ditto to Eric Clapton’s about his little boy.

Dustland Fairytale by the Killers. Written by Brandon Flowers about his mum dying of cancer. I discovered it when my mum was also dying of cancer.

it just captures the arc of a life so well - young love, growing older together, the devastation of cancer on the sufferer, the desperation of the relatives they leave behind etc

@LadyEloise1

We grew up listening to Jim Mccann & the Dubliners. Grace was my dad's party piece 🤣
I'm not keen on Rod Stewarts version. Both my dd's could sing Grace from when they were toddler's.

'This woman's work' by Kate bush and Eric Clapton's 'tears in heaven' - I can't even listen to them in full..
