What can you not buy as you will just eat it all in one go?

Biscuits, especially M&S all butter or chocolate Viennese biscuits. I dunk them in tea and they are just gone.
Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough ice cream. I only buy it twice a year as I can eat it in one sitting (just did.)
Maltesers. Share bag or even better the little box. I can’t stop until they are all gone.
I wish I could buy food like that and just eat it over a couple of weeks, like one or two biscuits a day.
Fortunately I’m not a crisp person so can completely avoid snacks like that.
What do you try to avoid buying as you just won’t stop eating it?

Nutella - I'll eat the whole jar with a teaspoon so I actually don't buy it anymore.
I also can't be trusted with biscuits or chocolate.

Have you tried the Bon Mamon choc hazelnut spread? 🤤

Peachyscream · 19/10/2022 23:35

Cadburys Snowy fingers (chocolate fingers, half white, half milk chocolate) I just bought 5 boxes, and have left 4 in the car boot. Scoffed number 5 in one sitting. I'm salivating just thinking about them right now. They're seasonal. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. I'm genuinely scared to open a box as I know it'll be inhaled in seconds.

Gymnopedie · 20/10/2022 03:14

Cashew nuts. The plain ones, not roasted and salted or any other tweaked type. I have absolutely no self control around them. I once bought a 1kg bag in the world food aisle. I'll leave that to your imagination...

I didn't even know this existed!!

Jourdain11 · 20/10/2022 20:32

Percy Pigs but really, is that such a bad thing?

Junegirl15 · 20/10/2022 21:02

Chocolate eclairs and profiteroles. Everything else in moderation but can’t resist those

Mini eggs… the minute they hit the shelves I’m powerless. Honestly I think I ate a bag a day last Easter 😅

ElrondsEars · 20/10/2022 22:59

Oh yes, Mini eggs! And as PP said - Easter eggs - cannot buy them in advance!
I also have an occasional cheese issue…

ALongHardWinter · 20/10/2022 23:37

VladmirsPoutine* The last time I bought one (2 years ago) was from Asda, but they appear to have discontinued them!

Netflix 'n' chill ice cream. Whole tub.
The Good Biscuits
Lotus biscoff spread. Entire jar.
I haven't bought it for several years for this very reason.

I love Lotus Biscoff biscuits. I have seen the spread and held myself back from buying it because I just know it's going to be incredibly moreish.

Chocolate digestives 😍
I buy them anyway though and now just accept I burn through at least 8 a day with my coffees! NOM

I fuelled a degree on plain chocolate digestives and black coffee. I could demolish a packet in a weekend. To be eighteen and thin again with the metabolism of a blast furnace.....

itsgettingweird · 23/10/2022 12:18

I'm also the same with biscuits so I get one packet a week.

I thinking it doesn't matter if I eat them all in a sitting day then as it's no different to spreading them out 2-3 a day Grin

NellesVilla · 23/10/2022 12:25

Right, this is just the highlights:-

  • Percy Pigs
  • Jaffa Cakes
  • Lemon meringue pie
  • Etonian Mess pudding
  • any family pack of crisps
  • plastic jars of nuts such as cashews or peanuts
  • any B & J’s ice cream that is vaguely chocolatey
  • Blocks of Red Leicester cheese
  • Pink wafer biscuits
  • sour sweets
  • ’naughty’ unhealthy cereal like those cinnamon things
  • pistachio little moons
  • cheese biscuits
  • dairy lea triangles
NellesVilla · 23/10/2022 12:26

Oh, and jars of Nutella
