Fuck! I'm high. NORMAL?

BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 18/10/2022 21:29

So I got high as a teen by smoking it. Never smoked if for 15 odd years. Recently started using edibles for pain (I have lupus). No worries. Taken half a few times. Starting taking whole ones about 2 weeks ago, last one Friday. Took one about 7pm tonight and felt good but fine, pain helped, as usual. But then suddenly as of about 9pm I am SO FUCKING HIGH. Like, SuperHans-high. I've eaten about 12 penguins bars and a six pack of veg crisps meant for the kids packed lunch. My husband is here and thinks this is HILARIOUS. I'm headed for the whole block of cheese in the fridge door and laughing my arse off at Gavin and Stacey on iPlayer.

Is this normal? I've never had this while taking edibles before for the past month or so.

Thanks anyone kind enough (or high enough) to answer.

It annoys me that threads like this get shut down, when people aren't trying to get high or commit crimes, they're just trying to find some relief. And it should be legal.

Imagine the tax revenue!

tenzillionlightyears · 21/10/2022 16:22

Thread copied and pasted into Word doc for future reference.

Fantastic! Thank you so much MN😍

crumpetswithjam · 21/10/2022 16:28

I'm trying my half tonight. DH on hand to watch me. Honestly, with all the tramadol and codeine I've had thrown at me by GPs over the years this is nothing. That's what angers me so much. I can get off my trolley on tramadol and it's legal. But half a gummy that just takes the edge off the pain and leaves me, if anything, a bit more relaxed is a no-no. It doesn't make sense.

mowly77 · 20/10/2022 00:53

But @crumpetswithjam you can get a medical prescription for those very issues you describe as well as serious stuff like cancer. In the process of getting one.

I don't think I can afford that, unfortunately. Not now anyway.

Threadkillacilla · 21/10/2022 16:32

Since I got a prescription I've weaned off the morphine and opiates, no more tramadol and just the occasional naproxen.
It's financially restrictive but I wouldn't go back.

Middle aged middle class women giggling about illegal drug use is utterly pathetic.

Give a thought to all the misery behind your “product” would you? Children caught up in county lines, trafficked and enslaved “gardeners”, and exploitation of vulnerable people, all so you can get high 🙄.

Nobody is giggling. I'm a middle aged, probably middle class (now, wasn't born it) woman. I live in a semi in the SE. Two kids. I drive a Volvo. We shop at Sainsbury's.

I have also spent my whole life living with undiagnosed autism, which was only diagnosed a few weeks ago. The world is very loud, bright, big, crowded and unpredictable for people like me. And the stress of just living in that state of fear every day for over forty years takes it's toll on your body, I have several chronic illnesses now, and they're irreversible.

I'm not here tittering about seeing dancing ponies. I'm just trying to get a tiny bit of relief, as responsibly as possible. Being high would actually be terrifying for my brain.

mowly77 · 21/10/2022 22:21

I’m surprised thread is still here too @theemmadilemma but frankly it bloody should be! It’s been legal in UK since 2018 for medicinal use, not a widely-known fact. And obviously been legal in other countries for much longer.

Anyone who rocks up to threads like this screeching about it being illegal has clearly never been in the terrifying position of having a chronic or terminal illness where cannabis could be of some benefit.

But sure yeah load me up with morphine in the meantime

theemmadilemma · 21/10/2022 22:23

It's ludicrous isn't it?

And think of all that lovely tax the UK could be taking off sales?

We need to get a hurry on.

theemmadilemma · 21/10/2022 22:23

We education, and legalisation!!

theemmadilemma · 21/10/2022 22:24

butchersshrink · 21/10/2022 22:27

Shit - me too. 😃 Going to watch 1930s version of Jekyll and Hyde and trip my nipples off.

Sunshineboo · 21/10/2022 23:04

ahem. after the baking, you can also sprinkle it on toast and put cheese on top. quick under the grill. looks like pesto and cheese toast. tastes ok.

sends you to the fairies!

and who doesn't like cheese on toast

Nooshoos123 · 21/10/2022 23:12

The site mentioned in a review on page 6 of this thread has an option to pay via an app as well as Crypto. Just sayin’, hypothetically, like.

Tried to order some on the site mentioned by the OP but stymied by the fact that they only accept bitcoin! (and i really don't want anything to do with cryptos ☹️)
i have restless legs syndrome and it makes my life a misery. Want to get off the dopamine stuff, before it stops working for me, which it will eventually.

That was meant in reply to this - hope it helps!

dawnfromgavinandstacey · 22/10/2022 08:56

I have nothing to do today so I'm going to have a brownie, blow dry my hair, watch telly and make a curry for later. Going to take the dogs for a walk when my hair is done. Looks nice and crisp out Brew

ThatshallotBaby · 22/10/2022 09:01

Perfect day @dawnfromgavinandstacey

theemmadilemma · 22/10/2022 09:12

Quiet day here just me and dogs, perfect day to wake and bake! 😉

user1483646497 · 22/10/2022 18:07

Is that wonka bar site legit? Has anyone used it?

Dustyblue · 23/10/2022 05:56

Such an interesting and important thread.

The legalities of whether this is legal or not seem to be deliberately obtuse, so as we have a hard time figuring out how we can and can't pursue this. Most of us aren't into cryptocurrency, for example.

I'm in Australia so laws are probably different, although I don't truly know what they are here. Other than it's slowly started being prescribed legally, mainly in its raw form I gather, depending on where you are and who you see.

I live in a small town with a large legal cannabis factory and know of nobody who's had it legally prescribed.

Edibles would change my life, my lungs can take no more!

IFrequentlyChangeMyUsername · 23/10/2022 06:23

12 penguin bars 🤣🤣

FeralWitch · 23/10/2022 07:03

Someone I know very well indeed has just used that myedibles site mentioned above. Shepaid with the app and said it was all very easy indeed.

I’ll ask her to tell me whether her stuff turns up ok: she says I’m fine to tell you lot.

Ccoffee · 23/10/2022 11:11

Had a look at the wonka bar site (stoner patch gummies) and not sure if I'm misreading the THC in the gummies - it say 10 gummies, 500mg THC in the bag, so 50mg each.

That seems insanely strong - I've had the 5mg gummies from the US and they are pretty strong already. Has anyone tried the wonka ones?

crumpetswithjam · 23/10/2022 11:19

I had a tiny tiny bit of an edible this weekend, just to try at a micro dose level.

It flattened me for 24 hours. I was useless. Not what I was after at all and just very scary really.

I've thrown the rest away.

I can't get the dose right with edibles at all.
if I smoke or vape the effects are instant so I just stop when it takes the pain off enough. I've never hit the sweet spot between stoned and pain managed by eating it.

FeralWitch · 23/10/2022 21:34

I’m sorry you couldn’t get relief @crumpetswithjam . I guess it was worth a try.
