Fuck! I'm high. NORMAL?

BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 18/10/2022 21:29

So I got high as a teen by smoking it. Never smoked if for 15 odd years. Recently started using edibles for pain (I have lupus). No worries. Taken half a few times. Starting taking whole ones about 2 weeks ago, last one Friday. Took one about 7pm tonight and felt good but fine, pain helped, as usual. But then suddenly as of about 9pm I am SO FUCKING HIGH. Like, SuperHans-high. I've eaten about 12 penguins bars and a six pack of veg crisps meant for the kids packed lunch. My husband is here and thinks this is HILARIOUS. I'm headed for the whole block of cheese in the fridge door and laughing my arse off at Gavin and Stacey on iPlayer.

Is this normal? I've never had this while taking edibles before for the past month or so.

Thanks anyone kind enough (or high enough) to answer.

I took medical cannabis for 4 months, I often felt a bit buzzy but never as you're describing! When I took more than my dosage it just made me feel nauseous sadly but enjoy!

Ridiculous that we are still in a position in the uk where we cannot easily access it legally. Yes you can have it prescribed but it’s an expensive process unless you get accepted on one of the research projects. For so many people THC is the only thing that works for pain control. But alcohol - which causes so much damage and illness is perfectly legal!

I agree completely. Show me a decision or situation I should have avoided and it will be down to alcohol. Show me a. Situation where I've done anything similar stoned. Has never happened.

Obv it can be misused. Same as alcohol.

But it would benefit so many people for pain relief.

crumpetswithjam · 19/10/2022 20:26

That's the only reason I want to use it, as like the OP I have an autoimmune disorder.

Tired of chugging codeine all the time.

SiobhanSharpe · 19/10/2022 22:42

Tried to order some on the site mentioned by the OP but stymied by the fact that they only accept bitcoin! (and i really don't want anything to do with cryptos ☹️)
i have restless legs syndrome and it makes my life a misery. Want to get off the dopamine stuff, before it stops working for me, which it will eventually.

mowly77 · 20/10/2022 00:53

But @crumpetswithjam you can get a medical prescription for those very issues you describe as well as serious stuff like cancer. In the process of getting one.

Axlcat · 20/10/2022 07:27

@mowly77 can you share the process for getting a prescription? Are you doing it via a private clinic?

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 20/10/2022 09:18

@Axlcat

I used Integro Clinic

It's pretty expensive but that's a legal option

I think its much more used than you'd think. I don't look "the type" whenever I've told a friend about it.

I used to get mine from a friend but it gets handed around so much you never quite know what you're getting. I get mine prescribed now for medical purposes.

My next batch of edibles are going to be, cooled brownie, pressed down and put in a loaf tin, bottom and sides, then a layer of nutella, then a layer of kinder Bueno, with white chocolate hazelnut spread on top, another layer of brownie, then covered in melted chocolate, set in the fridge then sliced. I'm so excited for them

Im decarbing now to make this, though I think I might do biscoff flavoured instead. It's going to be so sickly sweet

Yes, me too. I have rls and I'm on the pramipexole dopamine med. I'm feeling concerned that I am approaching the point where they might be becoming less effective. The side effects are awful too.

mowly77 · 20/10/2022 17:50

Sorry @Axlcat & others with medicinal
need; yes - you can get a legal prescription via a licensed clinic in the UK. I am looking at Sapphire and Integro at the moment. You self-refer & then provide your medical notes or other official medical documentation. Prices vary but there are ways of getting costs down. If you search the chronic pain board there is a good thread about this and some useful information.

Littleyellowbowl · 20/10/2022 19:21

I use Saphhire and by taking part in the research group, the cost for consultations is lowered. It's also tailored to your needs so they can add more THC or more CBD depending on what you need and what your symptoms are. I know what's in it, I know its grown ethically in a lab and it means I can take less of my prescription drugs too which there are about 10 different medications including addictive drugs and controlled drugs.

Axlcat · 20/10/2022 20:00

@Littleyellowbowl @mowly77 thanks so much. I’ve got an autoimmune condition so will qualify and will check these places out

Get the vital ingredient and put it in the oven wrapped in foil for 20 mins at gas mark one.

It will be very dry and crumbly uppy after 20 mins.

Crumble into aunt Bessie's brownie mix.

Bake as per what the packet says.

Get out the oven, cool and divide into 16. That is enough for 16 portions.

Don't eat another one it will work eventually.

The kids are going away for a week tomorrow. You know what I'm going to be doing !!

Littleyellowbowl · 20/10/2022 21:47

This is my creation, brownie, biscoff spread, nutella and a lotus biscuit rolled together, covered in chocolate. Iave a feeling ill get the munchies and scoff the whole lot!

Fuck! I'm high. NORMAL?
MoggyMittens23 · 20/10/2022 22:21

Where can I get some?!

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 21/10/2022 12:21

You need to add the decarbed weed to butter or coconut oil and cook it on a very low heat for at least 6 hours, you will get better results that way than just crumbling it in. I work for a seedbank in Holland, so have a bit of experience. It is the only thing that helps my arthritis. I use 5 g per 50gr of butter.

Middle aged middle class women giggling about illegal drug use is utterly pathetic.

Give a thought to all the misery behind your “product” would you? Children caught up in county lines, trafficked and enslaved “gardeners”, and exploitation of vulnerable people, all so you can get high 🙄.

Most of the weed available in the uk is home grown. It’s not like cocaine. Of course some weed growers are into some seriously awful crime, but most are just growing for themselves and a bit extra.

Can you put the vital ingredient into something soft like custard or yoghurt. My OH has esophagous cancer and can't eat solid things.

Yes you can put the vital ingredient into a mild oil and add it to custard or yogurt like that.

Twins3007 · 21/10/2022 13:21

I've had trouble sleeping for years so I acquired one and went to bed, clean sheets, lavender oil on pillow, cool Pjs, all set up to be away with the fairies for an hour, then the real reason I took it to get a good night's sleep. Wow that is not the way it went, I was so bloody high, my trip to the ensuite which is maybe 12 ft away from my bed looked as though it was the length of the M1 away , I had horses from a merry go round going round and round in my head, every time I thought the highness had reached the crescendo it just got worst , it seemed to go on for hours needless to say never took since

crumpetswithjam · 21/10/2022 15:50

I have some 6mg gummies. Thinking of halving them initially. I dont want to get high! I just want my knees and hips to hurt less!

It annoys me that threads like this get shut down, when people aren't trying to get high or commit crimes, they're just trying to find some relief. And it should be legal.
