We haven't here.
It still doesn't feel cold enough in the house for me. Although ours neighbours is on (which probably keeps us warmer).

No but I'm away until early next month which should mean a nice saving. It will go straight on for our return and I can't imagine it will then go off until March/April.

Avastmehearties · 20/10/2022 13:50

Only as a one/ two off when I had older guests, other than that no, electric throws and jumpers

RaininSummer · 20/10/2022 19:07

Very lucky it it just hasn't got cold here yet in Devon.

Midnightstar76 · 20/10/2022 19:14

Had put it on as DD ruined her school skirt so had to do an emergency wash and put it on for an hour to dry the skirt (this was in the evening so did not have the chance to put out on the line and she only has the one skirt). But other than that no. I was very reluctant to put it on at all. Now currently sat in darkness with only light from the TV. Constantly thinking g of ways to save energy.

MIL was watching the kids at the weekend and she had it on. But otherwise no, we don’t feel we need to yet…it’s still a perfectly acceptable temperature in our house.

mamabear715 · 20/10/2022 22:56

Just checked the temp in here, 11pm & it's still 20C (North) it must be quite mild tonight.

Comedycook · 26/10/2022 18:07

Still no heating yet here in London. It's very mild this week. 20 degrees...I'm still trying to pretend it's summer 😂

BeanieTeen · 26/10/2022 18:15

No, but only because it’s genuinely not cold - we’ve still got the windows open at night. It was 17 degrees outside today.

Is this going to be the new LTB-worthy crime on MN now? Forget cheating or escorts or gambling - it'll be sneaky heating sessions 😂

Ahhh this made me laugh!!

I have the window open at night even if it’s snowing, can’t sleep without fresh air.

Oblomov22 · 26/10/2022 18:37

Haven't needed to yet. We've got a new hive thermostat and it's been reading 20.8 degrees. That's hotter than I normally have it. Our heating is only set to come on if it goes below 19 degrees.

frogface69 · 26/10/2022 18:43

My house is ancient. Built in 1718. It gets very damp, no cellar so water just rises out of the ground. It's been mild enough to air the rooms in the morning and then occasionally use my heated throw in the evening. That's normal though for this time of year. Some years have been colder at this time. It evens out. I hope and pray for a mild winter if we get heavy snow my roof can't cope and it could fall in. I could cry with worry. I actually do. No money for repairs. I'm jiggered basically.

StarCourt · 26/10/2022 21:05

I've had the towel rail on a couple of times but the hesting is actually switched off. Am in the Midlands, I'm menopausal!

Donepaying · 26/10/2022 21:11

I put my fleece duvet on bed yesterday and spent all night sweating , it's so mild here

East Midlands - not complaining 😂

Badgerstmary · 26/10/2022 21:27

We haven’t needed to use our heating yet but it currently has a fault. It’s being fixed 9th Nov so I’m hoping we’re not going to have a cold spell before then. We have used our log burner once though.

MinervaTerrathorn · 26/10/2022 21:29

We haven't. No need, it's 18 in here right now. Bathroom windows have been open all day and bedroom windows all morning on weekends.

Shitfather · 27/10/2022 04:30

4.30am and window wide open in London. I’m sweating wearing only a t shirt.

pilates · 27/10/2022 05:24

No south east still very mild. Windows open in bedroom too of a night.

RewildingAmbridge · 27/10/2022 05:26

Thermostat is set to eighteen and it hasn't kicked in yet. Just checked and even though we've had the bedroom window open all night it's currently 20 degrees in here.

sashh · 27/10/2022 05:53

I have not had the heating on but I do have an electric throw and I have a spare duvet on the settee.

My thermostat tells me it is 18.5 degrees and that is fine for me.

moleeye · 27/10/2022 06:04

North London here, still haven't put the heating on. Have a 3 and 8 year old, no complaining of the cold. Most days I'm nagging for them to put socks and jumpers on...yesterday my 8 year old wanted to wear shorts and a vest!!!

Window open at night in our bedroom, it's very mild, washing still drying easily on the line outside.

Long may it continue!

Yerroblemom1923 · 27/10/2022 06:14

My thermostat is set to come on at 15 but it's not dropped that low yet, just 16 here in North. May have to drop it lower so it doesn't come on. Got oodies, hot water bottles, electric blanket and have used the wood burner a couple of evenings.

CoffeeThisInstant · 27/10/2022 06:23

Not yet. Still incredibly mild in East Anglia.

garlictwist · 27/10/2022 06:24

I have a few times when I've got in from cycling home from work in a monsoon and am chilled to the bone. But really it's been so mild for the time of year it's been easier to avoid it.

Londonnight · 27/10/2022 06:43

I haven't yet. Midlands. It has been really mild. Inside my house it is about 19c.
I have storage heating, so it is a case of either on or off. No thermostat to control or to be able to have heating on for an hour or so. So leaving it off as long as possible.
