I wish there was n off button to life and I was just gone.

Is there someone you can talk to, @Vaccine001? IRL or online.

I am so sorry. Have you any real life support?

Backthetruckup · 16/10/2022 21:31

@Vaccine001 😔

I'm having therapy but I wish I could stop thinking about my estranged family and sometimes hearing their disapproving voices in my head .

lljkk · 16/10/2022 21:34

I lost a tooth about 6m ago. No one has noticed.

Losing a tooth is my worst nightmare! Is it one of the front ones? How did you lose it?

All my friends think I am vegetarian, but I am not.

I also have a phobia of buttons. They make me feel sick.

meateatingveggie · 16/10/2022 21:37

My fear of a terminal illness dominates my life

GoodnightJude1 · 16/10/2022 21:37

I’m the life and soul of the party and I hate it. I find people exhausting. If you asked someone to describe me they’d say “loud, chatty, funny, outgoing….”

But I’m not. My ideal Friday night is a bottle of Sauvignon, in my pjs….watching Ambulance 😊

asdasult · 16/10/2022 21:39

I've done loads of interesting things in my life. But you'd never know. The person I did them with is dead and no one else knows.

Interesting like went to concerts and stuff. No illegal stuff.

I think I've found my twin!

Hi @Vaccine001

we are really sorry to hear you are feeling this way.
We hope you don't mind, but when these posts are flagged up to us we usually add a link to our Mental Health resources. You can also go to the Samaritans website
or email them on [email protected]. Support from other Mumsnetters is great and we really hope you will be able to take some comfort from your fellow posters, but as other MNers will tell you, it's really a good idea to seek real-life help and support as well.

We also like to remind everyone that, although we're awed daily by the astonishing support our members give each other through life's trickier twists and turns, we'd always caution anyone never to give more of themselves to another poster, emotionally or financially, than they can afford to spare.

Some further support links:

NHS: Where to get urgent help for mental health
NHS: Looking after your mental health
MIND: Coping with mental health problems during coronavirus

CALM: The Campaign Against Living Miserably
NHS: Help for suicidal thoughts

Very best wishes from MNHQ.

Why do your friends think you're a vegetarian?

Glad to know I'm not alone with the buttons thing, they actually disgust me!

@ChineAndWheeseParty

You can be my twin…. but only if you promise to never ‘pop round’ and only text….never, ever call! 🤣

KangarooKenny · 16/10/2022 21:41

If I knew how little I’d see my grown up kids, I wouldn’t have bothered.

A lot of people know I had a drink problem. I think they would be shocked to know I was what many in society would label “an alcoholic”.

I have had enough of being a mum.
I would be quite happy if they all left home tomorrow.

Loads of things I'd like to get on with in my career, that I can't due to teens needing me.
Loads of things I'd rather do than be a mum to teens.

My teens are nice. Not doing anything awful. Just.... take so much time and energy.

meateatingveggie · 16/10/2022 21:52

@steppemum I think this is a very brave and honest post, and one I can understand. I love my (adult) kids with all my heart. But I completely get this sentiment

I remember a girl from college with that phobia, wondering if I know you now.

thank you.
All I ever wanted was to be a mum. I think I've been a good mum for many years, but I have run out of steam.

Youngest is 15 this month.
To be honest, I know a few parents of teens who feel this way. And the thing is, none of us are dealing with bad kids. No one off the rails, dropped out of school, using drugs etc.
But a lot of them needed massive amounts of support due to anxiety etc.
It is hard work.

The 70s glam rock band The Sweet. Whenever I hear their music, which granted isn't often, I feel like I'm gonna have a major panic attack, weird yes I know Confused
