I'll start...

I have a weird phobia of buttons and freak out every time I see one Blush

I LOVE this! Was the band successful? Well known?

Unfortunately not. But we were LOUD.

star674 · 17/10/2022 15:06

Have really enjoyed reading other peoples quirks! Another weird thing about me is I count how many syllables are in a sentence and have been doing it since I learnt about syllables at school! 😂

I write fanfiction about a 90s children's tv show.

Now I'm intrigued

Now I'm intrigued

Use YouTube to watch Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog... it's an Irish-American show about medieval Celtic Power Rangers. Terrible writing. Terrible special effects. So terrible, it's wonderful.

This is the most fun thread ever!

RealHousewifeOfNorthernAlberta · 17/10/2022 16:33

Me too!!!

RealHousewifeOfNorthernAlberta · 17/10/2022 16:54

That made me very sad. I cannot imagine feeling that way. Can you join a hobby group of new church? Somewhere you can make new friends and experience new things? can you think of something that used to give you great pleasure the you can do to give you something to look forward to? Hugs.

I feel awful for thinking it but I believe my brother would be better off dead.

I do not think this out of malice but his brain is so badly damaged meaning he has a terrible quality of life. His physical body is also wrecked beyond repair and he will never live independently. I know I wouldn’t want to live like that. The situation has also taken a terrible toll on my parents.

CakeMake - please don’t feel bad about thinking this, I complete understand and I thought the same thing when my mother was very ill. I hope you are all ok, it sounds very tough going xx

Another koumpounophobe here - I actually think there are more of us than the statistics suggest as we just don't tell anyone as it seems mad!
The only person who knows is my husband - and maybe my mum but she never really took it seriously and just thought I was being silly - I am very jealous reading about the girl whose parents adapted her clothes.

Maybe it's not us that's mad - it's the button people and we're the normal ones - we just need to all speak out 🤣

I hate meeting people outside of work for coffee or pub etc I want to stay at home and not see or speak to anyone. I do go out and meet friends but I love walking in my front door and closing the world out.

This is totally me! I have lovely friends and family and a full time job but am happiest in my bedroom - not even any other room of the house. My bedroom is my content place. Lockdown was the happiest I've been as an adult. I can't wait to get back to my room any time I go out.

Like other posters said, if someone switched my "life switch" off I wouldn't care. I'm not depressed or suicidal and I don't need the Samaritans! I just find life long, dull, endlessly disappointing and I hate that I'll spend the most of my years of it in school (where I didn't want to be) and at work (where I don't want to be). Nothing excites me other than the thought of coming into money without anyone I love dying for me to get it - just so I can get off the fucking hamster wheel. The thought of living to be a ripe old age fills me with dread but I can't tell anyone in RL because I feel so guilty having watched dear friends and family try so desperately to cling to it (and some of them fail).

Hillsmakeyoustrong · 17/10/2022 19:25

@JustJustWhy that sounds a lot like depression to me. Or resignation. I wonder if it's the same thing really. I've been there and thought the same until I was diagnosed with depression.

@SteggySawUs oh thank goodness 😅 thought it was only me!

Nowhereelsetogo90 · 17/10/2022 22:42

@Lachimolala My Gran has this! She once got the strap of her shoe caught in an escalator on the London Underground and swore never to go on one again - 91 and sticking to this thus far!

Mannymoomin · 18/10/2022 00:33

That it was me that pressed the emergency red stop button on the escalator in a busy shopping centre as a child.

Mum still doesn’t know it was me that caused everyone to have to physically walk down it for the rest of the day. No idea why but they couldn’t turn it back on until the next day, this was probably about 25 years ago 😂

SNWannabe · 18/10/2022 00:52

I had phone sex with a complete stranger id chatted to online. I was separated, so didn't do anything wrong...but I've never told anyone.

Oh yes!
Delicious!
{Until mum said ''I clean the bath with that sponge''}

Something about the texture, filled with warm water..Delicious!

Haven't done that since childhood though.

Me too (as a child)... something about the warm 'fuzzy'/soapy/spongey taste!
