I don’t think catriona carey is anything to do with this at all.

however carrie and Samantha are the same person. No evil sister at all. Her cousin on fb has come forward and said so and they’re definitely a cousin. Plus carrie in her business pages has the same year and month of birth as Samantha. Yet she says she’s the older sister. Lies, lies, more lies.

I've just listened to a podcast about this being a hoax. It's towards the end of this episode.

So Samantha's second name is Jade and their mother's maiden name is Carrie Williams? She didn't try very hard to find an alias name.

Is she really adopted?

Her claim to be using self invented voice adaptive technology on shows where she's speaking completely normally (having said she can't talk) is insane.

CornedBeef451 · 18/10/2022 15:52

That clip was quite funny as she clearly stated she was unable to speak and used some very long words!

TitsInAbsentia · 18/10/2022 17:26

It's like some others have said upthread the deafening silence from the media proved there wasn't any truth to this! Wonder what she's doing now apart from being totally shunned at the village shop...

Facepalmtree · 19/10/2022 08:46

I've been following the aftermath on tiktok. She really went out of her way to target parents of disabled kids. Even talking about employing them! Feel really bad for all the people who she let down.

Whitepouringglue · 19/10/2022 18:54

This is a most bizarre person. What kind of personality disorder leads to this? I wonder if she'll end up losing her FT award if she misrepresenting herself. It wasn't a fiction contest. And if there will be repercussions regarding funding and grants.

Viewofthesea · 19/10/2022 19:09

I think it's absolutely despicable what she did. She looked like such a nice lady and I liked her. I never paid into whatever she was campaigning for. It's despicable what she did. To use special needs as an excuse to gain sympathy and money. She's a scumbag.

CrocodilesCry · 21/10/2022 23:42

She had secured some innovators' funding from the Alzheimer's Society but they've removed any mention of her from their website now.
I doubt she's still in Ireland, probably moved on to her next scam.

Isaidnoalready · 22/10/2022 00:01

I'm so sad about this I was hoping it was actually true and that we hadn't all been taken in by it

Hoping it was true would mean she had Huntington's disease, which she doesn't. So one less person with this terrible terminal illness is the only good thing to come out of it I'm afraid. Sorry you were taken in.

threelittlefigs · 30/10/2022 20:39

Are there any updates on this story? It is completely bizarre.

I've just come back on here after listening to this podcast. Fascinating and proves that you need to be cynical all of the time on the internet.

knittingaddict · 01/11/2022 10:14

I should add that I only saw this on mn. I didn't watch the tiktok video or follow it outside of here.

Worth a read - exposes her as a fraud. Documentary coming soon.

Soreztee · 09/12/2022 22:05

@CrocodilesCry thanks for sharing that. My head is spinning trying to keep up!

goldfishthecracker · 09/12/2022 22:12

This is batshit

CoffeeBoy · 10/12/2022 06:22

Thanks for the link to the recent story, was wondering if anyone had got to the bottom of it.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/12/2022 16:28

Thanks for that. Fascinating, and chilling.

Reindeersnooker · 10/12/2022 18:25

She's a seriously messed up individual and it's worrying that she's probably already reinventing herself in some vulnerable children's lives. Surely what she's done deserves prison time.

JemimaTab · 10/12/2022 19:45

It’s an extraordinary story. I saw her AirBnB story a while back and it was obvious that it didn’t stack up, but I just thought she was yet another social media attention seeker. Who could have imagined all this.
Shes no doubt planning her next scam as we speak. Truly messed up.

AlwaysGinPlease · 10/12/2022 19:56

@Reindeersnooker agreed. They definitely need to lock her up because she's very dangerous indeed. I feel scared for any children that get near her.

So do I. What on earth does she do with children in these therapy sessions? It's chilling. Her face should be publicised as she's relentless. The consensus from Irish people with personal experience on TikTok seems to be that she is guilty of more than the article suggests - perhaps the writers stuck only to what could be verified.

DysonSpheres · 10/12/2022 22:02

Who knew it was so easy to adopt a whole new persona, I would have thought it was very difficult these days. I found that surprising.

It's an unsettling read and yet, I do find it fascinating. I imagine she has a high IQ but is maladapted psychologically. Why? Not enough attention as a child? Not punished enough or socially corrected for simple lies every child tells when young? The article doesn't explore her early background enough to give clues as to how she settled into compulsive lying. I think it fails there.

I felt very sorry for the woman who employed her as an Au Pair, you can tell she is still blaming herself.

No doubt she' be found again when she starts wrecking havoc in other innocent people's lives.

Theopossumwasmeantforme · 11/12/2022 09:04

Apparently there's more that's not in the article.

She seems to target the disabled and people with disabled kids. It's despicable.
