As much as drama hunters would like to think otherwise, I think she probably was adopted together with her biological sister, both have issues as is not uncommon with adopted children, and that her sister and she are different people. It is the likeliest and simplest explanation. The two people in the photographs are very similar but it's a stretch to think they're identical.

I also think there's probably more we don't know about Jade. She's a strange mixture of grating and cautious. I think she probably does at least believe she is ill and probably is. I do think her legal team (aka lawyer friend) probably sanctioned a brief statement to say she wasn't her sister. They obviously didn't bother reading it before she posted it.

If I'm right it's rather hard lines on her having the internet decide she's her difficult sister, however she may have misrepresented the air bnb thing (the full existence of which I doubt now).

If she does have Huntington's we don't know how that affects her brain or what the medication does. Some medications make people paranoid and dishonesty is then more likely.

Wcc · 08/10/2022 17:38

They've both got a mole in the exact same place, cousin has said brother and no sister and not adopted.
I think the most likely situation is someone who has consistently bullshitted about the airbnb, the app creations, about the Netflix stuff etc is continuing down that path to dig herself out.

shipwreckedonhighseas · 08/10/2022 17:44

How have you verified the cousin?

I have a mole in the same place as my mum.

Hi Samantha!

This is from Tattle.

It's very interesting.

The cousins profile on fb has the same relatives.

Quite the coincidence no, exact same moles in the exact same place but two same age sisters who both embarked on a life of scamming and one disappearing completely off the face of the Internet and the other one appearing out of nowhere.

shipwreckedonhighseas · 08/10/2022 18:01

Yes I agree if the cousin has an established profile. Goodness. The games people play! I guess she won't work again.

shipwreckedonhighseas · 08/10/2022 18:03

I'm really not.

TikTok is absolutely awash with people defending Jade/Carrie/Samantha. Awash.

It's so sad to see people who have been so completely brainwashed that they're unable to see what's in front of them. And anyone who says different is called ableist, or is accused of working for the shadowy lobby group acting on behalf of the AirBnB litigants who do not exist.

I've checked the birth records myself. Carrie/Jade does not exist. Anywhere. Neither does a female "Cameron Williams" which Carrie has claimed is her birth name.

Samantha and a younger brother are the only children born to her parents. It's absolutely 100% not true. Carrie/Jade is Samantha. An investigative journalist is on the case and says she hopes to publish all of this on Monday.

DaSilvaP · 09/10/2022 02:17

You can still find the first version of this story being propagated without any checking - or with delayed checking.

The vanishing article in the Independent
Two days ago after taking at face value a story from Tic-Toc, the Independent published it as "truth" . Someone must have done some overdue fact-checking as the article just vanished from the Independent's website.
But it still shows in search results.

Someone started a forum discussion on the Scope charity website. Same happened. The whole thread vanished, but still shows on search results. Scope deleting a thread about the "ill treatment of a disabled person" - why would they do such a thing?

I've woken up to an email from Change.org with a refund of the donation I made to this woman's lie

That’s interesting. Did you apply for a refund or was it just given? If the latter, I guess that means the petition has been withdrawn.

thinline · 09/10/2022 13:11

@JemimaTab I just woke up to it. The email came through at 05:29. I didn't apply for the refund they just sent it back?

Isaidnoalready · 09/10/2022 14:26

But it wasn't for her benefit it was to promote the petition? Has the petition been taken down?

DysonSpheres · 09/10/2022 14:54

Petition must have been removed surely if they're refunding donations.

Shocked by Scope. This scam has clearly penetrated quite a ways into the disibility community.

Disabled people do face discrimination and many struggle with co-morbidities such as anxiety. Some would have felt extremely threatened by the thought of a legal case possibly down-grading their rights and protections and undermining the Equalities Act.

Dreadful to do that to people and I hope the police are on it.
They don't seem to have a problem randomly door-stepping women, arresting them and keeping them in cells for 'hate' (non-conformist) speech online. I would have thought something like this merited equal treatment.

CrocodilesCry · 09/10/2022 18:10

It's very odd that the petition itself hasn't been removed. It's still live with 17k+ signatures.
I'm pretty sure I've seen another mention on either TikTok or Reddit of someone receiving a refund - unless that was also you @thinline ?
I doubt the person who set up the petition could instigate a refund, and it does look like Change made the refund to you directly, so maybe the petition will be removed now?

thinline · 09/10/2022 20:21

@CrocodilesCry no that wasn't me I don't have TikTok which is how I was behind on the news this was fake 😔
Yeah that's right, it was to promote the petition (me stupidly sending £5 thinking it would reach people that could afford more)

CrocodilesCry · 09/10/2022 21:46

@thinline No worries. You're not the only one then to get a refund. Just amazed the petition is still up.

Facepalmtree · 10/10/2022 15:14

I've just seen another review on booking.com where she complains someone rang the bell when they were supposed to knock. 😂

She's written a similar response to the one Charlotte got. Seems to be a standard response to any criticism.

thinline · 10/10/2022 20:39

Just so I understand, I have been following but maybe wrongly...
There's a sister, who people suspect is actually her too (so there's not actually a sister IYKWIM). As well as being the woman who committed fraud re surrogacy she is also the woman reported missing suspected of being in Ireland, and the woman who reported to have had a stillborn baby and later suffering mental health problems because of this.
These are all the same person?

thinline · 10/10/2022 20:41

@CrocodilesCry I looked back at my email confirmation and it was £5 to show the petition 200 extra times on change.org

It says I was 1 of 68 people (at that times) who had donated to help the petition

I hope they get refunds too!

Viewofthesea · 12/10/2022 15:14

This thread is an eye opener. I saw her videos on tiktok and fell for it. Thought it was completely outlandish. It was strange. She spoke with what I think is an English accent but she spoke about Euros.

I never signed her petition.

This thread highlighted the name 'Carrie'.

Can anyone fill me in please. What is that about?

The name Carrie rings a bell to me. There was a fraudster in Ireland with the name of Catriona Carey. She played vulnerable people in debt and scammed them out of thousands. I naturally wondered if there was a link.

I googled a picture and to be honest they don't look the same. Then people above mentioned a mole on the face.

This is Catriona Carey.

I went down a rabbit hole with this the other day and so many things didn't add up I annoyed myself for being sucked in; I'm glad it's come to light now that this is a work of fiction - I just hope for attention and no one has been scammed.

There is now a statement on "her" website - 1820things. The lady doth protest too much, methinks....

My name is Carrie Jade Williams and I am writing this on the advice of my legal team. I am an entirely separate individual to my sister whose mental health past has been dragged into my life as an attempt to discredit my advocacy work.
It is illegal and defamation to attempt to suggest that my sisters past is mine, when I am an entirely different individual. Legal steps have already been undertaken to stop this illegal defamation. I am an entirely separate individual and appalled that internet trolls have attempted to discredit my advocacy by bringing my sisters past and suggesting I am she. This mixing of people’s lives is defamation.
I am my own, individual person.
I was not aware of the full history of my sister’s mental health difficulties, though we support and love her. She has moved her life onwards and not had any legal trouble in nearly a decade. I will not be providing any further comment on my sister, due to the threats received.
I stand in support of all those with mental health difficulties. My sister has had a long history of mental health difficulties and is suffering due to internet trolls attacking both of us. Internet platforms need to urgently take steps to ensure their platforms are not used to defame individuals and their families. I am not my sister and although we look similar (like many families) I am older and heavier. We live in separate locations and lead separate lives. It is defamatory to suggest that we are the same people when we are in fact separate individuals. Anyone suggesting we are the same individual will face the full force of the law.
To any of those of you looking to cancel orders (which I take no profit from) please email [email protected]m_ and we will arrange for a refund through stripe.
We ask for peace and quiet during this devastating time for me to mind my sister and take the legal steps to protect my reputation, as per the law.
