Accountant. I do enjoy it. 3 years to train within a practice, so paid while training but v low salary until exams passed. Lots of studying required until exams passed. I trained in my early 30s having pissed about travelling the world in my 20s. Degree not needed to train but I do have one and most do.

Postie, I love my job

GiltEdges · 22/09/2022 14:59

Data Protection Officer. Yes, I like it. No two days are the same, so lots of mental challenge, good money, flexibility in terms of office vs WFH and I don’t have to think about work at all once I’ve logged off for the day.

AffIt · 22/09/2022 15:04

IT, specifically information systems and data management. Currently working in management consultancy for a global firm.

I really like the job and my colleagues (and the salary is excellent), but it can be very stressful and 'always on'.

Teadrinkingmumofone · 22/09/2022 15:04

Facilities management
Yes, heavy going at times though

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 22/09/2022 15:06

Lecturer at university. Yes I really love my job.

Vicliz24 · 22/09/2022 15:08

Charity shop manager. Heavy non stop physical work for very little pay but very rewarding.

Hotandbothereds · 22/09/2022 15:08

PR/events, I enjoy it, it’s challenging, I can be creative and the content I get to work on is usually fun (occasionally mixed in with more corporate messaging, which is a bit more dull but it’s all a mix)

Office Manager and Admin for a charity. Very close to my heart so I feel like I’m doing good. Not perfect. But I have lots of responsibility given my role and the charity are really flexible in terms of hybrid working and childcare.

If you've ever had a letter from the NHS, certain councils or financial institutions, the chances are I either printed it, enclosed it or made sure it went to the right sorting office.

Motnight · 22/09/2022 15:44

Programme Manager in the NHS. Love most of my job, struggle with the pointless rules though

dustofneptune · 22/09/2022 15:50

Dog walker, in a city (walk dogs on lead, on their own or in pairs).

Pros - work for myself, most clients are lovely, all of the dogs are adorable, keeps me active, usually only work 10-2 / 20hrs a week

Cons - some clients are awful, low overall pay unless you expand and hire people (then pay them very little...), walking in storms etc., inflexible and difficult to take time off at short notice, exhausting!

Set up this business thinking it would be a cool job to do while I figure out what to do longer term - and it has been! But very much looking forward to doing something different, where I can snuggle up at home all day :D

cheapskatemum · 22/09/2022 16:15

Support Worker in a residential children's home for children with disabilities. I love my job, every day is different and it suits my skill set. The young people I work with make it very rewarding - though they have their moments. My colleagues are a caring & humorous bunch.

Vampirethriller · 22/09/2022 16:23

Cleaner in a care home, it's hard work but I enjoy being there and I love talking with the residents. It fits around nursery which is a big bonus.

BryceQuinlanTheFirst · 22/09/2022 16:24

I do marketing freelance & run two small businesses. I love it. Mix of organising, being creative, analytical - it's such a blend.

Coffeaddict · 22/09/2022 16:25

Lecturer at a university. Love it but you generally need at least a PhD to get them so alot of training.
