Housewife - the only thing I hate is the judging and eye rolls

Same, and totally get how you feel. It consumes me, day in, day out. Judged by everyone . Its v lonely .

Civil-structural engineer in the marine engineering sector. I love my job.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 22/09/2022 19:54

Childcare practitioner in a preschool. I love it but it's physically knackering and I'm getting too old. Pay is awful but it's termtime school hours which was great when my own kids were small.

Devo1818 · 22/09/2022 19:57

Secondary school teacher with responsibility.
I love my job but it is full on. I would be a teaching assistant in a heartbeat if I could afford it.

quiteathome · 22/09/2022 20:01

Podiatrist for the NHS. Love my job but only recently qualified

Remmy123 · 22/09/2022 20:02

@Evivie curious as to how you got that job, was it through an agency?

I am a private PA to a HNWI and struggling to find a new private PA role

Thanks

SLT in an academy school. It's exhausting, stressful and no 5 mins is the same. But I do enjoy it. I couldn't be a teacher. I see how stressed they are !

ShirleyHolmes · 22/09/2022 20:03

Social worker. Love the work with people but I don’t like the reality that most of our work is report writing and meetings. This has massively increased over the past 20 years.

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 22/09/2022 20:03

That sounds ideal. Is the pay any good? I’m getting paid peanuts atm, only benefit is term time but if I get a better paid job I can work around that.

Teach English as FL to primary kids. Not in the UK. I love it, but it can be exhausting. I never thought I would enjoy teaching. It's a long way away from where I started in my career.

Rockbird · 22/09/2022 20:06

Junior school office. Love the children, less keen on the parents! Pay is terrible but I love the job. Mostly...

Primary school teacher. I adore my job and I also really hate it.

Can I ask what you love/hate about it? I'm a mental health nurse and am thinking of retraining in primary teaching.

GingerGloucester · 22/09/2022 20:07

Im an actuary and really enjoy it, good pay and work life balance

MonsterKidz · 22/09/2022 20:09

Librarian. Love it!

MonsterKidz · 22/09/2022 20:11

I was the same for a number of years and have only recently returned to work, less about the money and more so I can say a profession when people ask what I do!

ColourMeExhausted · 22/09/2022 20:12

Communications management. Generally enjoy it, no two days are the same and I get to be creative.

Must admit I love the idea of being a ghost writer, that has always appealed to me!

Covidwoes · 22/09/2022 20:12

Primary teacher (13 years experience). Love the teaching, absolutely loathe the box ticking, ridiculous paperwork and Ofsted.

ColourMeExhausted · 22/09/2022 20:13

Do you mind me asking how you got into ghost writing @Stuffthisstuff?

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/09/2022 20:14

TV Producer, I like it, but it sure can take over your life.

belge2 · 22/09/2022 20:15

Special Ed teacher! Love it!!

Climbingthelaundrymountain · 22/09/2022 20:18

Preschool assistant/SENCo. I do love it. Children are so funny and fun loving and innocent. Sure some days have you needing a lie down in a dark room afterwards but the bond formed with these children is so worth while for us and them.

PlayItAsItLays · 22/09/2022 20:20

Pilates Instructor and Personal Trainer. Yep, I enjoy it most days.

Spudlet · 22/09/2022 20:21

Sports massage therapist. I love it.

I run a business, employ 5 people now and it’s growing quite rapidly, it’s very stressful and I rarely get a whole day off! I do enjoy it though, I thrive on pressure, love decision making and generally like leading people.
If you enjoy pressure and trouble shooting, business could be for you! The income can be unlimited, you can always work more hours, go into new markets etc!

@GyozaGuiting

If you don’t mind asking broadly what area is your business in, and did you work in the same area previously
