Doctor

I mostly love it. A lot of training, a difficult profession especially at the moment but I love medicine. I wouldn’t want to do anything else

Administrator and finance assistant - currently getting bookkeeping qualifications as that is the bulk of my role so thought I should have confirmation that I actually know what I've been doing for the last 4 years!

CallMeBubbleDarling · 22/09/2022 18:10

Primary school SENCO. Love my job but I wish there were more hours in the day to get done everything I would like to do

What bookkeeping course are you doing and what does the role entail? Thanks 😊

Finance within motorsport - absolutely love my job.

Training and Development (although that's not actually my job-title - which is made up of meaningless management buzzwords Wink)

The best part of my job is identifying people's training needs and devising learning programmes to meet those needs. In a large organisation there would probably be a team of people doing this and everyone would have very specific roles - admin, design, consultancy etc and delivery may be farmed out to external contractors. But I am in a small organisation and do a lot of face-to face training delivery myself - which I absolutely love.

Must-haves:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

A genuine interest in people - building trust and rapport is absolutely essential for delivering a positive learning experience

Creativity - ability to come up with innovative and engaging activities that help people absorb and retain information.

Organisational skills - it's a very operational role and I'm juggling lots of balls in the air.

Good record-keeping.

Decent IT skills - not my strong suit but working on it.

@GiltEdges I’m an information analyst for local government which I enjoy. Is there any useful courses for Data Protection that you would recommend? Thanks 😊

MinnieMountain · 22/09/2022 18:36

Solicitor but I like my job. I do complex title checking for a licensed conveyancers. I get to do the intellectually stimulating legal work without any client contact.

Hedgesfullofbirds · 22/09/2022 18:41

Craft gardener - with a background in agriculture, forestry, conservation and rural estate management. Wouldn't want to do anything else as I love working outside, in all weathers, (except intense heat!), growing and nurturing living things. Salary levels will never be high, but offset by job satisfaction.

Cuddlywuddlies · 22/09/2022 18:52

Microbiologist and I love my job!

Northbynorthbreast · 22/09/2022 18:55

Entrepreneur and speaker. I run a careers consulting firm with an all female team :)

work a three day week and don’t answer to anyone plus our work is really uplifting and interesting - and well paid.

7Worfs · 22/09/2022 18:55

Currently Global Project Lead. I don’t particularly enjoy it but it’s well paid and very flexible.

I am a serial job hopper and don’t stick around if I don’t get reasonable recognition/promotion within the first 18 months with a company. This selfishness has served me and my family well and I highly recommend it.

Loobyloo68 · 22/09/2022 19:01

It helps!!! To be honest the first week nearly killed me, I had aches in muscles I didn't know I had, but you soon get used to the walking and your fitness improves over time. I can do 6 miles a day without batting an eyelid now

Loobyloo68 · 22/09/2022 19:02

stripyspider · 22/09/2022 15:01

A family member used to do this, do you have to e very physically fit ?

Just found out how to answer you. I started 12 months ago, first week was hard but I'm used to it now

Meezer2 · 22/09/2022 19:04

Communications planner.

I decide which media channels we should use to reach certain audiences, what message and content goes in each channel, and the frequency of the media

Mrsuntidy · 22/09/2022 19:07

Teacher and I love my job.
