Will the king have two birthdays too? Like his mum did?

Yes.

Georgeskitchen · 19/09/2022 12:43

Anyone know if Fergie was invited? I kept an eye open but didn't see her

Yes, she was there.

They were donated to the Queen by Canada and live here apparently

Thanks 😊

bellac11 · 19/09/2022 12:44

The sand hasnt covered all of the route though so I dont understand how its for the marching or the gun carriage

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 12:45

Generally they don’t, it’s usually a complete list of who is in each car.

Ah, I wondered because they didn't list George and Charlotte, who clearly were visible in the car, so I thought maybe there were others.

I wonder how the husbands and Zara, Louise, and James, get there. Or maybe the go in cars but not part of the slow procession

She was there, and sat with the family. She was next to Eugenie and directly behind Catherine.

Supercal00 · 19/09/2022 12:45

@Bouledeneige i had this exact same thought. Some many important people there, the security must be nuts from all over!

liveforsummer · 19/09/2022 12:45

The horses are so perfectly in step with the marching. Foot perfect. Definitely on their best behaviour today!

StartupRepair · 19/09/2022 12:45

So the dignitaries go back to their hotels, kick off their shoes and have a drink?

Andante57 · 19/09/2022 12:45

The drums being draped in black made me well up.

QuebecBagnet · 19/09/2022 12:45

@LoveMyPiano thank you. Do you know who looks after those 4 horses year round? The army? The palace? A random Mountie who stays here?

Mummyoflittledragon · 19/09/2022 12:45

JustLyra · 19/09/2022 12:43

Yes.

Yes. George II wanted a celebration on a warm day so created the monarch’s official birthday and trooping of the colour.

Yes. The King’s actual birthday is in February and the weather is inclined to be inclement at that time of year. The monarchs official birthday is celebrated at a time when weather is likely to be better.

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 12:46

The sailors are linking arms because they are pulling the gun carriage with the coffin on it

It’s very odd. They usually list everyone.

combined with the fact Eugenie and Beatrice left their rows and didn’t walk up the aisle with the family it’s a bit odd.

It would make more sense if at least all the grandchildren are in the cars

The sand was on a tight bend by the looks of it. Probably to help with that urn and stop it running away in the the road camber

It's in November.

That's a beautiful view of London

I think it’s in areas where they might stop and need to start again to help with initial traction?

MiceInTgeHouse · 19/09/2022 12:46

Shame about the dung

Apparently a lot of them go to a reception hosted by the foreign office or something.

I thought it was November

Sunbird24 · 19/09/2022 12:46

Guessing the King will likely use the same date for his official birthday as the Queen did

DillonPanthersTexas · 19/09/2022 12:46

Impressed with the lads keeping the orb on the coffin balanced.
