Will Rigby & Peller now be By Appointment to the H.M. Queen Consort?

Didn't they lose the royal warrent for some indiscretion?

Is there a thread dedicated to people who are fed up with it being crammed down our throats 24/7 in the media? Please provide a link. It’s like when Mandela came out of jail.

Perhaps you could watch something on catch-up - you don't have to watch TV live.

There are several anti monarchy threads on mn. You can’t have looked very hard.

I’d there something wrong with my telly? It’s the same pictures and programme on 1, 2, 3…..

ok I get this funeral is important to some but to flood the TV channels with the same thing denying choice is a bit naff.

There are other channels to choose from.
Channel 5 is showing other things, as are most Shy channels and most Freeview channels. Streaming services are also available, as is on demand TV and films.

Regardless of whether you agree with the Royal Family or not it IS an important British historical event and is therefore rightly on the most watched channels.

PleaseGoDontGoAgain · 19/09/2022 13:36

@treedragon there are plenty of those threads.

Again, if you're fed up with it why click on a link clearly related to it? There are literally hundreds of threads about other things. Off you pop.

All the embroidery patches on some of these uniforms will need to be changed, from E II R presumably to C III R ?

Not just the embroidery - cap badges will change, and the insignia is even on things like buttons, so there is quite a lot of apparently small things that need to be swapped

Bemyclementine · 19/09/2022 13:36

Those poor pallbearers. I hope they get a good rest after this.

TokyoSushi · 19/09/2022 13:36

The pall bearers are really quite young aren't they? Maybe early 20's? Can you imagine how proud you'd be if that was your DS?

MinglingFlamingo · 19/09/2022 13:36

Thank you JustLyra

I just want to applaud those ratings pulling the gun carriage - magnificent, disciplined. All of them in fact.

Particularly the two who were visibly holding up the one who was unwell while maintaining a perfect stride. It's truly spectacular.

The bearers have just marched all that way and now they have to carry the coffin

I was just thinking that this has been a huge day for them.

MenopauseSucks · 19/09/2022 13:37

@JudgeJ I didn't know that.
(Off to Google it....).

Jellykat · 19/09/2022 13:37

Aw look at them all, its like a private moment with their former boss.

I bet Camilla is dying for a fag

The way the pallbearers smoothly levitate that heavy coffin up and get it on their shoulders like magic is what gets me. Their forearm strength must be amazing.

I suspect they've practiced with a coffin much heavier plus also with wet hands in case it rained

JustLyra · 19/09/2022 13:37

Princess Anne going in the land rover behind the hearse - accompanying her mother to the last.

Double nicotine patches today

My new passport was printed on Wednesday and still referred to her Majesty.

tellmewhyidontlikemondayfunerals · 19/09/2022 13:32

Where do the likes of Biden, Trudeau etc go after the service?

Lakenheath probably, at least there isn't too much traffic to be held up there today!

Suspect a couple of them were older than they looked as they were Sergeants

SpinCityBlues · 19/09/2022 13:38

Oh that got me - that anthem was for her, not him. That was sweet.

JustLyra · 19/09/2022 13:38

The little details are so meticulous - the hearse just as an E on the side. Not ER.

itsgettingweird · 19/09/2022 13:39

I just love how Princess Charlotte chats to Prince George!

Such 7yo innocence. Chatting away as granny's coffin is paraded and transferred.

purpleme12 · 19/09/2022 13:39

I didn't see the tired navy person.
