Are the men in black morning suits behind/side of the royal family body guards/protection?

That's what we just said. They are constantly looking around

Ending at Marble Arch to transfer into the hearse to drive to Windsor

Not Marble Arch - the Wellington Arch at Hyde Park Corner. Marching up Park Lane to Marble Arch would be quite an underwhelming end to the procession!

I think they must be

wheresthehope · 19/09/2022 13:13

The men walking in the procession right behind William , Harry etc are they protection officers ?

Benefi · 19/09/2022 13:13

Harry has done time and earned the right to be actually proudof his military service.

But you could say that about a lot of ex-military.

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 13:13

Sorry yes. Wellington Arch at Hyde Park

cathycake · 19/09/2022 13:13

The Queen was respected so much for her years of duty and dignified ways. Sadly Charles is full of piffle and will never get the respect like the Queen did.

verastan · 19/09/2022 13:14

Were the middletons there? Or are they babysitting Louis?

Its closed.

Tbh the whole uniform thing is ridiculous.

I was watching the maddness of king George last night and one of the artisto fops around the king said " oh look I think they made me duke/bishop of blah" whilst admiring one of his medals!

Harry has done time and earned the right to be actually proudof his military service.

He can be proud, just not wear his uniform. It's not a decision against Harry. He would have known the rules when he left.

miserablecat · 19/09/2022 13:14

Probably already mentioned but must be physically and emotionally demanding for the RF. They've been marching for about an hour but still 2 more services to get through.are they also marching at Windsor? And Charles and Camilla had to meet all the heads of state etc yday evening.

What’s that got to do with it? No one in the armed forces can ever wear their uniforms after they have left- unless they were a really high rank. Harry, as a former member of the armed services, would know this.

Yes, he can wear medals and other insignia. He knows this, he went to Sandhurst.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned but anyone notice that the poor sailor right in front of her coffin looks like he's about to fall asleep? 😬

Michael and Carole were pictured entering quite early on. We haven't seen Pippa/James/spouses though, so not sure if they made the guest list.

Exactly. Harry did a few years, you could do your entire working career, be injured in duty, and still not allowed to wear it.

Benefi · 19/09/2022 13:16

All week. I keep thinking of my relatives in their 70s having all of the travel, ceremonies, marches and dress-changes of the last 10 days.

elizaregina · 19/09/2022 13:16

Bubbly Very true re weather!!

They were

It surprised me at first because the announcer said "the parents of the princess of wales", and I immediately thought "aren't Diana's parents dead"? Then realised who they meant! It will take a while to get used to thinking of Kate as princess of wales

CustardySergeant · 19/09/2022 13:17

Doesn't London look wonderful? I'm so pleased the weather is dry and sunny.

NiqueNique · 19/09/2022 13:17

Why can people not understand the rules about uniforms?

Every member of the armed forces knows and understands that once they are no longer serving they will not wear uniform unless they have reached the rank where that is allowed. That doesn’t in any way take away from their service nor their pride!
