Are they not giving out blankets and hot chocolate? A sausage roll even? Seems the least they could offer the public for their devotion.

It’s been a bit cooler and raining a lot but it was baking this afternoon.

People forget they are watching history, if people did not want to pay their respects to their Queen, why is there a queue ?

There is a mix of generations as well, which is god to see.

I wonder if some weren't intending to bow and don't really want to but feel obliged because everyone is stopping to do it?

It was really warm here about 4pm but it's way colder now. I guess once they were in the queue in the warmth earlier they were stuck with what they were wearing.

Ha ha! I think it's about 12 where I am. Cool enough for me to have a blanket over me, anyway.

I saw a barber's shop in town that had a sign in the window '5 barbers - no waiting'

They could have 5 (or more) coffins dotted about the country for people to view and they would never have to declare which one the Queen was actually in.

I'm trying to work out how long the queue is by assessing how fast they are moving compared to normal walking pace. 2.5 miles, you'd easily do in an hour at normal walking pace, so say they are walking at 1/4 normal walking pace, you might think the queue was about 4 hours, but add in the stops every 20 minutes to change the guard, perhaps 5 hours?

I live near the end of the queue and was just thinking of going but talk of close ups in the live stream has put me right off

It's quite relaxing, except for the guard changing clonky bits.

So are there any stats for how long in time the queue is taking? Have the people that were at the end of the queue hours ago reached the front yet...?

If the average walking speed is around 3mph, then even at a quarter of that the queue should only be takint about 3 hours?

I've got another idea, why not drive the coffin past the queue, then everyone can go home early.

I've been googling all over and I can't find that information. Not that I am thinking of going down to London, as it would simply be too expensive, but I'm curious.
