Lady di would have been queen...

Just the thought of it creates butterflies in my stomach as when she died I was really young and it hurt a lot...even though I didn't understand what really happened. I'm sad the queen has died but just the thought of princess diana becoming queen...it would have been amazing.

Honestly you need to understand Diana was human like everyone else. No better no worse. Not pure. Not innocent. Not an angel. HUMAN.

This is what people can't comprehend. They ignore her cheating and bad behaviour but happily point the finger at him. If they think Diana was completely innocent, they're deluded.

Inkanta · 10/09/2022 11:52

So the 19yo bride was cheating on her 32 yo husband with a bodyguard was she? You really will believe anything

Yes I think the point that we remember is the fact she was only 19. She thought Charles loved her when she went in to that marriage.

I feel sorry for Diana but she was human. I think Charles and Camila being actually in love put us all in a better place - happy king, intelligent down to earth Consort. Charles should never have married Diana and loved Camila, lots of family pressure to marry a virgin which messed with his happiness. There's is a love story, Diana was silly fakery, just sad she died before she found real happiness and got pulled into the Royal family drama.

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 10/09/2022 11:46

How on earth do you know that? Jesus she really did a number on everyone. Being 19 means you can't cheat?! If anything it make you more susceptible to seduction.

Honestly you need to understand Diana was human like everyone else. No better no worse. Not pure. Not innocent. Not an angel. HUMAN.

The delusions around Diana are absolutely crazy.

No one has said she was an angel, but your attempts to re-write history to make Charles the innocent, cheated-on, cuckholded husband are laughable, given he was making calls to Camilla within weeks of his marriage to Diana.

But of course Diana must have been cheating on him with her bodyguard as a 19yo bride ripe for seduction so that makes his cheating ok 🙄

midgetastic · 10/09/2022 13:09

Charles loved camilla and that doesn't stop because you are forced to marry someone else

If people kept that knowledge from Diana they are the people to blame

🤣 She was sleeping with one of her bodyguards. They were both as bad as eachother. A tit for tat cheating marraige that should have never happened. She was not not "innocent" or "destroyed" by her husband cheating. But, she was a good actress who knew how to play the part of the "People's Princess" so people like you would see her as perfect. As I said she was just as bad as him if not worse when it came to cheating on him with multiple men.

I guess at least Charles settled down with the woman he'd actually been in love with his whole life.

Camilla is the Queen Consort as was Queen Elizabeth II wish.

How on earth do people just pull this kind of shite out of their arse and post it as fact? I was no fan of Diana, not in the slightest, but unless you were hiding out in her flat before she got married, this is just gossip that you believe.

I believe that Camilla will make an excellent Queen Consort and I think she's such a perfect match for the King, but these stories are just that. Stories.

That’s simply not true. They had literally met twice before she agreed to marry him. There is no way she thought he loved her. No way at all. They literally had met twice.

Do you think Diane consented to some sort of arranged marriage?

That was my point. My post was no more factual than the people saying the opposite. No one knows what happens behind closed doors. Many insiders have said she cheated first others say he did. It's all shite. Nowhere did I say it was fact. Really @DeclansAFeckingDream calm your tits.

Not true. She'd already found out he was still in touch with Camilla beforehand but her sisters said it was too late for her back out so she just went through with it - and she said when she was crying as he going off on a plane back then that she was crying about Camilla.

They had literally met a handful of times before they got engaged and a total of 13 times before they got married - I don't know how she thought it was love when they barely knew each other.

Diana was excellent at people pleasing, brilliant at making herself look good and an expert manipulator of the media - never to blame or responsible for anything, always needing constant reassurance and attention. She had a lot of traits of a covert narcissist which I read was once suggested to her by a doctor (or at least narcissism). Narcissists are just amazing at making people think they wonderful people no matter what they do the bad things are never their fault (having affairs rather than leaving the marriage for example) - and no one was ever better at that than her.

Camilla will be a far more dignified and stable queen.

This article suggests the affair with the bodyguard came first.

You know @ForTheLoveOfSleep, when you try to insult someone personally please try to think of what you say. I had a bilateral mastectomy last year, so I don't have any tits to calm, as you so kindly put it.

midsomermurderess · 10/09/2022 15:07

DeclansAFeckingDream. I too have had a bilateral mastectomy. I am in no way offended by ‘calm your tits’, but self-pitying, self-regarding laying on of guilt holds no interest for me.

It's also amazing that Camilla is Queen, though. Or Queen Consort, or whatever she is. Wallis Simpson was born fifty years too early!

But if we are going for "what ifs" like OP. What if Charles and Camilla hadn't had there early relationship interfered with when they were young, then Camilla would now be queen, not queen consort.

She is Queen Camilla and "Queen Consort", which was also the title of Queen Alexandra, Queen Mary, the Queen Mother, all "first" marriages. I think it's being used a lot at the moment to differentiate because the Queen (regnant) has just died.

TBH I think she was more interested in Andrew Parker Bowles back then, but she and Charles do clearly love each other now. She may have thought any serious interest in Charles was a hiding to nothing, who knows?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 10/09/2022 15:57

Charles was perhaps dithering
and of course he joined the Navy <<or something?>

DillDanding · 10/09/2022 16:05

I really hope that the press and media drop the ‘consort’ bit after the funeral. Camilla deserves to be called queen, just as those consorts before her were.

Well, it’s not up to the press and media, is it? It’s the Palace that has decided the terminology. Although bearing in mind the preponderance of some news outlets to refer to “Kate Middleton”, a name long gone, who knows?

It’s not up to the press & media to decide, that’s her title, they’ll need to use it correctly - nobody went around calling Prince Phillip king did they?

Yeah and nobody ever stopped calling Sarah Ferguson by that name did they? Some just stick.
