When the Queen died?

I was stirring dinner and dd was laying the table. I suspect a lot of us were cooking dinner. A moment we'll always remember.

RIP Your majesty.

Sitting round the kitchen table playing a game with DH & the DC.

We had radio 4 on in the background which they were moaning about because I’d told them it would be announced at 6pm and then of course it wasn’t until later. It feels like a fairly momentous moment in terms of the first new monarch for 70 years so I wanted them to hear it.

Playing PlayStation...notification came up on my phone and then DP messaged me.

Are you talking about the moment she died at the moment you heard she'd died?

IckyPop · 08/09/2022 22:48

Shaving hard skin from my feet 😬🙈

Doing the evening drug round on my ward. A nursing assistant walked in and announced it. Several patients cried. We tried to get the TV to work but couldn’t.

DH and I were outside gardening after chatting to our neighbour who said he'd lower his flag to half mast when she goes. About an hour later we stopped for a break and looked over the fields and saw him lowering the flag.

Our neighbour near us has his at half mast. He did this for Philip until after his funeral so will no doubt do the same for The Queen

Queuing at Tenerife airport check in. A ripple went through the queue as people realised.

Suspect she died in the morning.

I doubt they'd have all rushed up to Balmoral if she was already dead and there was no big royal congregation making a speech or whatever.

At a funeral!

NeedWineNow · 09/09/2022 09:12

DH was watching the telly. I was upstairs getting ready for ballet class and was just bringing my bag and shoes downstairs when he called me and we watched the announcement together. I rang my mum and told her as she hadn't had the tv on all day so wasn't aware.

it was a sad and momentus day and DH and I both said that we felt, and still feel, strangely bereft.
