Rudest encounter with a celeb I've ever experienced

1000 replies

chattp · 30/08/2022 11:17

Not that I've had many!

But Christian Bale was in London 'itsu' a few months back.

He was buying something but I'd just picked it out of the chilled section. I saw he went to reach out for it at the same time so offered it to him, as I liked something else anyway

His response? 'You've touched it. Why would I want it now?'

I was really shocked at how rude he was!

I emailed him once about something, and my boss told me to talk to ceo like he’s the queen….

Tell him you're a republican so the Queen is simply Mrs Windsor as far as you're concerned!

Leafy3 · 30/08/2022 12:16

@MzHz The Queen or a queen?

justaladyLOL · 30/08/2022 12:17

Never heard of Christin Bale
Helen Mirrien is up her own bottom she thinks she is more than just someone who pretend to be someone else
Met Harry Kane 3 weeks ago utterly charming
Also Deborah Meadon at Highate cemetery - again charming

Full body slam when Amy Winehouse ran full pelt into me at a crossing - she ran across a red man, through traffic, big crowds. Not even an acknowledgement or apology, hurt a quite a bit. Was never a fan but that cemented my views.

This sounds to me like she was trying to get away from someone. Going by the documentary about her, probably paparazzi.

JubileeTissues · 30/08/2022 12:21

"I emailed him once about something, and my boss told me to talk to ceo like he’s the queen…."

I'd start every interaction with Yassss Queen GrinGlitterball

Jess Glynne. Awful. As were her ‘people’.
Diva demands and rudeness all round.

Really surprised at this!
I always thought she’d be someone who was down to Earth but I always wondered how come she’s not more famous than she is - perhaps that’s why.

I’ve always disliked the Galliger brothers, they think they’re Gods so I’m not surprised by their behaviour.

Starstar7 · 30/08/2022 12:23

Google "Christian Bale I want you off the set " for an example of his twattery.

Helen Mirren literally elbowing me out of the way to push in to the front of the queue for airport baggage security. There were only 3 of us in the queue.

Jamie Oliver's entourage - just as he was becoming famous - asking me to leave the computer area in the BA lounge so he could have some privacy. I was the only person in a huge room.

I sincerely hope you told Jamie Oliver's entourage to fuck off

Not a surprise, considering the article about her behaviour at trying to get in to sexy fish

Several years ago Nicole Kidman was in London doing a theatre piece. A friend of mine worked very near to the theatre and would see Nicole and her security coming and going, and she would always wave or smile or shout out, 'Hello Nicole'. Never at any time did Nicole show any acknowledgement apart from glaring at her and looking as though she was massively inconvenienced by someone saying hello. Very cold. Didn't even smile back.

Phrenologistsfinger · 30/08/2022 12:28

@Plump82 no, honestly there was noone pursuing her, she was just in a hurry and was far too important to worry about the people in her way.

@chattp she may have been drunk but I don’t think makes it any better or her more sympathetic. It was just rude.

IHeartPepsi · 30/08/2022 12:29

Jess Glynn doesn't seem to realise she is extremely fortunate to have had any success given that she has such a hideous voice. Whenever she comes on the radio I ask myself this (and then quickly turn over).

MzHz · 30/08/2022 12:10

I’ve heard that too, she was appalling on a flight when she thought nobody recognised her so broke out singing… 🙄

Sat waiting for her to come out and perform at the IOW festival one year, only for an announcement to say that she had pulled out due to anxiety and exhaustion - literally at the second she was due on stage. Turns out she'd been partying at the spice girls wrap party until 7am and was hungover. Luckily Richard Ashcroft filled in at short notice with an incredible acoustic set (bonus! not a massive fan of hers anyway). Permanently banned from performing at the festival. Rude and unprofessional.

To be honest, I'm on Nicole's side with this one. It must get incredibly annoying to constantly have people yelling to get your attention

bloodyunicorns · 30/08/2022 12:33

Re Christian Bale - how did he thinks the tubs got onto the shelves? Magic?

As long as you weren't actually dangling your fingers in the food, he's being a twit.

Goldpaw · 30/08/2022 12:33

Are you sure it wasn't just a Jet 2 flight Grin

Greggggg Wallace spent a few days at my workplace. So yeah. Universally loathed.

Frauhubert · 30/08/2022 12:34

Elle McPherson shouted at staff at Paul Cafe in Holland Park how dare they call themselves a french bakery if they don’t have pain au chocolat?! (Hint: they ran out) this was quite a long time ago, but still makes me 😵‍💫

MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake · 30/08/2022 12:34

Oh yes, a Richard Ashcroft acoustic set instead of Jess Glynne sounds like a win!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 30/08/2022 12:34

Upinaballoon - this is glorious!

@SwissRole123 he's definitely the most famous person I've ever seen/met

I've had brief hellos to other celebs but they've all been quite minor ones such as Adam Woodyatt (very much like his character on east Enders)

Also Adam Woodyatt, he came to my till when I was a student in the 90s, it was christmas time and the queue was very long. He made it known he was in the queue by stepping away from it and huffing and puffing loudly to make it known he was there. I got really nervous and my queue got slower! 😂 When he eventually got to my till he didn't say thank you, just rolled his eyes at me and huffed out of the shop. Tw@t!

Jess Glynne. Awful. As were her ‘people’. Diva demands and rudeness all round.

I second this, she is truly vile and I have heard this from two different people.

One is a family member who works in the industry and said she is the most up her own arse, diva ever and he's met Mariah (who is a doll, apparently). She talks in the manner of a roadman and tries to act black, kissing her teeth at the mere suggestion of anything that displeases her, which is often.

The other helps organise a local concert in a park, she literally cancelled on the afternoon of the thing, or her people did. He had sympathy to start with as apparently she was very unwell, in bed, no voice, being sick.

His sympathy ran out sharpish when it was in the press of supposedly very unwell Jess, miraculously recovered and out clubbing.

I can add another name though, Brix Smith. What a rude, self important toad she is. I was at an event which she was at with a number of famous types, and her and one other were possibly the most ignorant pair of women I've ever met. Would not go to the bar for themselves, instead they kept shouting at staff to hurry up and serve them. They were bitchy as hell and could be quite deliberately heard slagging off what us civilians (their word) were wearing. Horrid pair of harpies. Brix then came out from her little claimed area to go to the loo, pushing everyone out the way as she went. I think she was incredibly drunk but I've never liked her since because she had no manners, grace or kindness at all.

10HailMarys · 30/08/2022 12:36

I used to have a job in which I met quite a lot of low-rent celebs. The worst ones were Leslie Grantham, Shane Richie and Gary Lucy. All obnoxious. Also, Richie and Lucy are both so incredibly thick that I barely know how they breathe without a reminder.

Met Harry Kane 3 weeks ago utterly charming

Yes, Harry Kane is an incredibly sweet, polite man. Marcus Rashford is also lovely. The absolute world's nicest footballer of all time is Son Heung-Min, though.
