You're tasked with making an in-depth and thorough presentation about one topic. You have no prep time you just have to get up and talk. What would it be?

I was thinking about this earlier while cleaning up and pretending I'm on a show to give my tuppence worth about something I'm a specialist in. I think I would go with skincare as I've done so much reading over the years I'd say I'm fairly well knowledgable. What would yours be and for what reason?

SEN law and the shit state of its implementation. One hour isn’t long enough. Can I have a white board? My diagrams are ace.

ARFID and tube feeding use.

I could also add in plenty on navigating a system for disabled people which is designed to be as tough as possible!

Anything to do with:

Writing business strategy.

Building work communities and employee resource groups.

Negotiating alignment and buy-in across functions and regions.

Those are the things I do day in, day out, at work and could talk about in my sleep.

Ready for the most random one of all?

Gerbils.

😂😂😂 Random, I know, but I know an awful lot about them after years of research. I rescued some as pets a few years ago and became obsessed with them. They're very intricate and wonderful little things, and sadly people aren't provided with good information from pet shops about them (e.g. they always sell cages that are far too small, bare minimum is 70x35cm). We have three now and anyone that steps over the threshold of my house is dragged in to their room to meet them and given a full presentation on gerbil facts. People generally find it odd but sort of sweet, meanwhile, my dad has decided I've completely lost the plot and won't come to our house unless he absolutely has to 🤣😂

PhD or current work project. I could also give a talk on how to entertain kids in the area we live. Not very interesting!

Ha! I normally deliver eulogies in my head when I am cleaning … 😀

But my specialist subject talk without advance prep would be “how to deliver a foal”
