You're tasked with making an in-depth and thorough presentation about one topic. You have no prep time you just have to get up and talk. What would it be?

I was thinking about this earlier while cleaning up and pretending I'm on a show to give my tuppence worth about something I'm a specialist in. I think I would go with skincare as I've done so much reading over the years I'd say I'm fairly well knowledgable. What would yours be and for what reason?

I'm not sure I know anything about anything these days.

@Springblossom2022 I love gerbils! I had a pair when I was a child, we kept them in a big tank full of peat and they used to make tunnels.

Do you handle yours or just take enjoyment from watching them?

Ready for the most random one of all?

Gerbils.

😂😂😂 Random, I know, but I know an awful lot about them after years of research. I rescued some as pets a few years ago and became obsessed with them. They're very intricate and wonderful little things, and sadly people aren't provided with good information from pet shops about them (e.g. they always sell cages that are far too small, bare minimum is 70x35cm). We have three now and anyone that steps over the threshold of my house is dragged in to their room to meet them and given a full presentation on gerbil facts. People generally find it odd but sort of sweet, meanwhile, my dad has decided I've completely lost the plot and won't come to our house unless he absolutely has to 🤣😂

Sorry, not random enough. Me too. We crossed paths on "Small Pets!"

Fabulous arent they! I cant ever imagine being without Gerbils. I could easily talk on this subject.

Gerbil Qualifications: Years volunteering for an animal rescue charity as their Gerbil Specialist. I was so fed up of dreadful information on the internet, I wrote my own website 😀

I’ve read Dave Goulsons book Jungle Gardening (or how to save the planet) a couple of times. It’s changed my way of gardening.

So I would bang on about how greenfly are just as important to the environment as the birds and bees. That grass is a desert for wildlife and you should leave the weeds.

It would be a bit disjointed if I’d had no prep. But a captive audience - oh my lord! My husband normally changes the subject when I start on this with any guests in our house.

@SilentHedges oh my goodness, finally someone like me! This has made my day 😂 That sounds amazing, I would love to volunteer at a sanctuary. I am waiting to hear back from my local one after applying to volunteer a couple of weeks ago and really hope they will allow me to share my knowledge and get really stuck in.

I let some of my lawn grass grow long / wild is that better for the environment? I've started cultivating a wild meadow in one corner. Is it short mowed grass that adds no environmental value at all?

I've just realised how pathetic that makes me sound! I've been on mat leave for the last year so baby is forefront of my mind. I can't wait to get back to work 😆

@SilentHedges I love your website by the way! Will be showing and recommending it to anyone with gerbils. Much easier than me typing out a whole essay of information 😂🙈 Brilliant work!
