You're tasked with making an in-depth and thorough presentation about one topic. You have no prep time you just have to get up and talk. What would it be?

I was thinking about this earlier while cleaning up and pretending I'm on a show to give my tuppence worth about something I'm a specialist in. I think I would go with skincare as I've done so much reading over the years I'd say I'm fairly well knowledgable. What would yours be and for what reason?

@Hidingawaytoday
Not pathetic at all but totally relatable!! It made me realise that I could also do an excellent presentation on "Where is Maisie's panda"?

@SilentHedges oh my goodness, finally someone like me! This has made my day 😂 That sounds amazing, I would love to volunteer at a sanctuary. I am waiting to hear back from my local one after applying to volunteer a couple of weeks ago and really hope they will allow me to share my knowledge and get really stuck in.

I started fostering and volunteering for my local Rescue. Ended up adopting Gerbils, gained a load of knowledge, now run their "Gerbil Department" with a friend. Please share your knowledge with a sanctuary/rescue, as so few people really know how to care for Gerbils.

I've been in contact with Jungle Pets about improving tanks, I pull up the RSPCA on their ads with incorrect advice. I'm involved with SPRAW (small pet rodent awareness week) headed by Val Green MBE, who are trying to raise awareness and lobby government to improve small pet welfare. As I'm struggling for time they will need solid Gerbil Advice, so if of interest at any point, get in contact m.facebook.com/smallpetrodentawarenessweek/

Sending the Gerbil love!

Queer sport or partition.

Bonsai, with particular reference to growing trees in a natural style suited to native European species, rather than styling according to the Japanese artistic aesthetic.

@SilentHedges I love your website by the way! Will be showing and recommending it to anyone with gerbils. Much easier than me typing out a whole essay of information 😂🙈 Brilliant work!

Thank you so much. It still needs some tweeking but its so good to send to Gerbil adopters as one stop Gerbil info.

Selling skills
Its a presentation I have done quite a few times so could reel it off easily

LondonWolf · 14/08/2022 11:31

Autism and how it presents in both boys and girls.

LondonWolf · 14/08/2022 11:32

Oh and the Twilight movies Grin

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/08/2022 11:34

The works of Shakespeare. I'm an actor, primarily Shakespearean, and also teach in this area.

Without prep it'd be a slightly rambling "oooh, another interesting thing I've just remembered!" sort of presentation though. 😆

The Blacklist and theories about Raymond Reddington

Milking a cow and making cheese and butter, all by hand.

I could talk at length about Harry Potter and how Severus Snape is the most interesting character. Some people love him, others hate him, although I do think a lot of love stems from the films and Alan Rickman playing that character. Then I could go into the differences between the books and the films. Who wants to be bored for a couple of hours? :D

The wives of Henry the Eighth and the Cult of Elizabeth 1st

I could probably muster something on various ways to identify compass points without an actual compass.

I also remember a lot of recipes, so could blag something cooking related.

Lots of work related teaching that I could repeat in my sleep if anyone was actually interested in ECG interpretation or drug calculations.

1stWorldProblems · 14/08/2022 11:44

The English Reformation with reference the impact of various European reformations & theological on it.
I had to buy the original of this recent Private Eye cartoon as it covers both my interest in early Protestant theology & GC politics.

BurnDownTheDiscoHangTheDJ · 14/08/2022 11:47

Something I've taught ad nauseam for the past 15yrs... so 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Of Mice and Men', 'A Christmas Carol'... could literally teach a lesson about any of those and a few others on the spot to anyone who asked. Otherwise I know a lot about the Tudors, both versions of 'The Office' and the life and times of Eva Peron. So, nothing very useful! 😂

EmmaH2022 · 14/08/2022 11:47

How knowledgeable do I have to be?

The English Ghost, I think.

Fifteenchildren · 14/08/2022 11:52

As a child (aged about 9-12) I had a particular obsession with the Bermuda Triangle so I could definitely do a presentation on that 🤣🤣🤣

ThePollutedShadesOfPemberley · 14/08/2022 11:54

Sprouting and microgreens.

Speying a cat.
