I was thinking about this earlier while cleaning up and pretending I'm on a show to give my tuppence worth about something I'm a specialist in. I think I would go with skincare as I've done so much reading over the years I'd say I'm fairly well knowledgable. What would yours be and for what reason?

@Yamadori have you been to the Bonsai collection at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens? Both Japanese and European trees, such a lovely place.

Ready for the most random one of all?

Gerbils.

😂😂😂 Random, I know, but I know an awful lot about them after years of research. I rescued some as pets a few years ago and became obsessed with them. They're very intricate and wonderful little things, and sadly people aren't provided with good information from pet shops about them (e.g. they always sell cages that are far too small, bare minimum is 70x35cm). We have three now and anyone that steps over the threshold of my house is dragged in to their room to meet them and given a full presentation on gerbil facts. People generally find it odd but sort of sweet, meanwhile, my dad has decided I've completely lost the plot and won't come to our house unless he absolutely has to 🤣😂

I go to that

No, but I know a couple of the people who help manage the collection.

My most recent hyperfixation has been delving into the anti-MLM movement, so I'd probably go with that.

As long as you don't mind being bored (that's my speciality) I could probably cover the philosophy of religion, various education topics or living with a particular disease.

Local saints in England and France.

often saints’ lives are the only written records in semi illiterate times, so they are a source of information on customs, agriculture, living conditions and social practices and conventions. The narratives tend to be less revised and ha ha sanitised than for more famous and widespread saints , as organised religion has not edited them to blandness.

and there is something fascinating about a direct connection to your own locality.

The local housing market, and the price and floor plan of every properly that’s been on Rightmove within a 5 mile radius for the last two years.

I love floorplans. We used to play with the grass cuttings on the green in front of our house, and I’d be designing my ideal house floor plan at age 8 (long before I’d ever seen any estate agent particulars), then playing living in it.
