NC as I know I will get flamed and also because of opinions around me personally and the vitriol I know I will receive from my point of view. I wanted to know if there are others out there.

So....... First of all, I despise all the shit that has happened 're partygate / watching porn / groping and sexual misconduct massively. I think the Tories in general have been scrum of the earth, thinking they can get away with vile behaviour and thinking they are untouchable.

What I do think (which I know On mn is blasphemy) is that Boris is a great PM that has balls. He obviously lacks in other areas like keeping grown elected men and women in his party under control and not behave like horny teenagers on their first holiday! They are the ones I worry about, he may have been a soft touch boss but surely the party could see that and his strengths were elsewhere? The fact he didn't crumble when the odds were against him. The party are showing their true colours now and I hate the Tories but respect Boris more. go hate me

It could have been a LOT worse with others in charge.

Is this just an article of faith? How? Why?

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:26

Also he wasn't 'dealt' brexit, he cynically got in bed with the hard liners because he really, really wanted to be pm

It was the result of the Referendum. It's what people voted for. Or are you suggesting he should have just ignored it and do as he saw fit?

I think this too. My comment as I think he may be ND is because I don't actually think he has a grasp o r inclination to involve himself in office politics \ lock down parties. To other people I know sounds absurd but being ND myself and partner being ND and employs staff,he needs his trusted employees to point out such things. My D P holds an academic post and employs many people he is respected but as far as the social side he is clueless and not interested, he would rather put blinkers on and do his job. I do think this has happened here????

I agree. One of the things I like about him is the fact that he seems very unwilling to sack anyone. Even Cummings!!!

As an ordinary person with an ordinary job, I will always appreciate a boss who doesn’t just jump to sacking if their employees have misbehaved. .

Having balls is one of his main problems IMHO.
Royal Mail probably has to hire extra vans for Father's Day card deliveries.
Considering the amount of practice he has had, he's not even a very good liar.

So, @Anotheronebitesthecheese do you also answer to "Carrie"...? 😂

Aria999 · 09/07/2022 02:31

@apintortwo there was a range of options for brexit. Boris Johnson was aligned with the hard brexiteers.

The referendum provided no data on what kind of brexit we wanted. We could have stayed in the common market for example.

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:35

The referendum provided no data on what kind of brexit we wanted

I think this is very clear by now. There's no need to speculate

Aria999 · 09/07/2022 02:37

Lol I think it is pretty clear but not in the way you think

He didn't give a toss about Brexit. Just jumped on to a racist right wing bandwagon to serve himself.

VaggieMight · 09/07/2022 02:39

@apintortwo I don't think the Tories are suddenly seeing sense now. They happily parroted TWAW. Now they've seen the public backlash and fallout (Labour losing women) and are going for the 'anti-woke' vote. Recently I've heard more Tories talk about woke far more than women's rights. I agree other parties aren't speaking up, but to be honest I don't share my 'GC views' outside of my friends and family. It's social/political suicide.

It's ridiculous that basic biology is a political point 🤷‍♀️

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/07/2022 02:40

One of the things I like about him is the fact that he seems very unwilling to sack anyone.

I think you'll find that's one of the reasons he was an appalling PM.

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:41

Just jumped on to a racist right wing bandwagon

Again, it's the people who voted.

Featuredcreature · 09/07/2022 02:41

Jesus fucking christ does anyone on earth think that leaders of the parties actually have any say in anything. They are figureheads. I honestly despair.

Aria999 · 09/07/2022 02:44

Er yes actually, in Britain the pm is quite powerful. Who do you think actually has a say in things?

TooBigForMyBoots · 09/07/2022 02:45

He doesn't have balls. He has arrogance and is a master debater. He is not brave. And as a lazy, corrupt, lying, glory seeking cunt, he was not a good Prime Minister @Anotheronebitesthecheese.

However he does have the support of a huge number of people in the country who are unhappy that his party ditched him. That 80 seat majority came about because people believed in Boris. Not because they believed in the Tories.😬

I wonder what kind of PM Johnson will be now he is no longer the leader of the Conservative Party?🤔

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:41

I'm not talking about the people who voted. I'm talking about somebody who lied and cheated his way to the top over something he actually didn't even really believe in.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/07/2022 02:49

He's not a master debater. He's a master debaser. In debate, all he can do is lie, scoff and make personal attacks, often entirely baseless.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 09/07/2022 02:50

Has balls? He constantly dithers about making decisions. Other than the balls of trying to front/lie his way out of decision making - what ‘balls’ does he have? I’m no Tory and agree with her decision but MT was a politician with balls who believed she was doing the right thing and owned her decisions.

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:50

That 80 seat majority came about because people believed in Boris. Not because they believed in the Tories

This is speculation also. Boris was very charismatic indeed.

But if the Tories are careful, someone suitable will end up being in charge.

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:51

his way to the top over something he actually didn't even really believe in

How do you know what he 'really' believes in?

newbiename · 09/07/2022 02:52

Anotheronebitesthecheese · 09/07/2022 01:34

I wasnt actually going to say this as I know I will get massively flamed....

I as a ND person suspect Boris is also ND...... There I said it out loud!

Agreed

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:54

MT was a politician with balls who believed she was doing the right thing and owned her decisions

And this is very commendable. But due to the mammoth task ahead of her, it wasn't enough unfortunately

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/07/2022 03:06

apintortwo · 09/07/2022 02:51

his way to the top over something he actually didn't even really believe in

How do you know what he 'really' believes in?

Well, since he wrote an article saying why Remain was the right option, just a few days before hitching a ride on the Brexit bus, I'd say he didn't really believe in Brexit, but he did believe in Boris.

I am asking for you to forget about the mainstream bs and to think for yourself. Please understand my point in this thread. I don't care for mud slinging of family affairs, this wasn't the point. I dislike both parties. Labour have their own fair share of troubles. Please stop with the snikey side line remarks, this is what I dislike about labour. I would love if they came up with an actual solution instead of bitching like a load of teenagers but they dont. It seems all they can do is hurl insults and retrospect. I pray for a 3rd option but if I was pushed I would definitely stick with Boris with better colleagues and not the shitty, back stabbing perverse bastard s that he has /had at the moment.

to repeat what I said up thread, I too am totally disgusted by what happened with regards to the pandemic, that horrifically a lot of people were failed and died alone. I am not sure Starmer would have done a better job. I think we were I'll prepared for a pandemic and the Tories took advantage of a 'soft boss' I actually think he wasn't aware of most of the going on s and he needed people to actually step in and tame the man child's \ girl child's whilst he was trying to run the country. Where were those peo ple? I stand by what I said, I think he is ND.

OP posts:
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/07/2022 03:14

He was the fucking PM. It was his job to be aware. Instead he was pissing around having photo shoots where he was shaking hands with people during a deadly pandemic, when he should have been attending COBRA meetings.

balalake · 09/07/2022 06:37

I hope the OP is a troll or you recover from your illness.

Mr Johnson has not even got the main task he was elected to do. Brexit is not done, all we have done is leave the political institutions and entered into an agreement that his government wanted to break less than a year later.
