Or Belfast?

That would be fantastic! To be hosted in the spiritual home of Eurovision.....the island of Ireland 😉😉

Because London is a world city

I guess the Italians hosted in Turin this year. I was expecting Rome, although they did include some videos of the amazing sites around Italy, inc Rome.

Johnny Logan won twice with about 10 years between and Ireland never declined hosting the competition after a win

Johnny Logan won the competition 3 times.

Twice as a singer - "What's Another Year" and "Hold Me Now"
Once as a song writer with a song that Linda Martin sang "Why Me?"

I'm not quite sure how to answer that Confused

It should definitely be London because it's a "world city"?

Fucking hell GrinGrin

I thought every city was as you call it 'a world city'. If they aren't 'world cities' what are they? Outer space cities?

Of course Mäns is very welcome to come over to present Eurovision any time he wants

He lives here.

WeAreTheHeroes · 17/06/2022 15:14

It could be anywhere in the UK with a big enough indoor arena. I'm so excited.

RedToothBrush · 17/06/2022 15:27

Looks like Ukraine may object and spoil the uk party yet:

Iullia Mendal AT iuliiamendal
Ukrainian Minister of culture Tkachenko wants to appeal against the decision to move the musical contest "Eurovision-2023" from Ukraine to the UK.
"Holding the Eurovision Song Contest - 2023 in Ukraine is a strong signal to the world that it supports Ukraine now,” - he said

I'm not convinced that politicising it will help. I get the impression that the decision was made for safety reasons and in view of the uncertainty for an event that takes 11 months to plan.

Its likely there will be heavy Ukrainian involvement but i just can't see them hosting it.

Leave the M25, head north. You may learn something.

I don't see how Ukraine can possibly host it!

FluffytheGoldfish · 17/06/2022 15:39

To be honest as much as I would love to see Rylan host, if it is held here it should be Ukrainian presenters hosting.

balalake · 17/06/2022 15:39

I'd hope Ukraine can host it, but sadly have to be realistic.

Manchester I vote for!

FluffytheGoldfish · 17/06/2022 15:41

I'm voting hor the Hydro... It was looking very nice when I passed 10 seconds ago on my way home.

Plus it was in the will Ferrell film as an actual venue (but moved 40 miles or so🤣)

Quarique · 17/06/2022 15:47

I would like to see one presenter from the UK, one from Ukraine and one from Europe, I think it would balance well. I dont mind Clara, Mika or Rylan, and would be very happy with Mans.

Mittens1717 · 17/06/2022 15:52

Topseyt123 · 17/06/2022 12:06

I think this was on the cards the minute the public vote so dramatically made Ukraine the winner.

The UK was a very clear second, and had it been left at the jury vote would have been the clear winner. So I would consider it fair and reasonable that we should host next year's competition.

The BBC has stepped in occasionally when other broadcasters have been in difficulty over hosting before. I think that happened when Johnny Logan won it several times on the trot for Ireland and the Irish broadcaster was running low on funds to keep hosting.

This never happened

They cant. Accommodation is the crunch point even if security is fixed.

BettyBootsie · 17/06/2022 16:05

When the UK last hosted, it was Terry Wogan and Ulrika Jonsson wasn't it? So no reason Graham Norton couldn't step out and host along with Rylan - actually Rylan would be great in the commentary box if Graham was hosting. I really like the idea of Clara Amfo - unfortunately I can kind of see it being Alex Jones though!

Isn't it somewhat necessary to have a presenter who can speak another European language, usually French? Maybe Mel Giedroyc or Davina?

Assanctamonioysastheycome · 17/06/2022 17:37

Like London needs yet another world class event to stage 🤔
Just once could somewhere else be chosen?

WeAreTheHeroes · 17/06/2022 17:59

I am meeting up with friends who are very knowledgeable in the Eurovision world and will see what they've heard.

SpinRiverSister · 17/06/2022 17:59
