Dermot for sure!

On an ITV contract.

OP posts:
JaneJeffer · 17/06/2022 12:41

Doesn't he do BBC radio?

crumpet · 17/06/2022 12:42

Yes, agree with Graham in commentary box

RedToothBrush · 17/06/2022 12:42

Confirmingmyusername · 17/06/2022 12:36

Presenters

I want: Graham Norton, Rylan and AJ Odudu

Possible candidates: Amanda Holden, Dermot O’Leary, Tess Daly, Holly and Phil (no, no, no!)

Amanda is also ITV.

Surely they'll use Ukrainian presenters?

Doesn't he do BBC radio?

Yes but his tv contract is with ITV.

I think one. With live broadcasts in from Ukraine I suspect.

Johnny Logan won twice with about 10 years between and Ireland never declined hosting the competition after a win

HannahSternDefoe · 17/06/2022 12:49

I've never been so thankful for ITV contracts...😂

It'll be someone with excellent language skills (pos a news reader?) and hopefully a couple of Ukrainian TV presenters.

It's their show not ours - we didn't win.

We're just offering them a safe place to host it from, and shouldn't "take over".

MinglingFlamingo · 17/06/2022 12:50

What about Jordan North, Vick Hope, Greg James, Roman Kemp. Radio presenters which have been on tv but not given that much air time This would be a great opportunity to get younger people into circulation instead of wheeling out the same people all the time

mumonthehill · 17/06/2022 12:51

Please let it be Wales’s turn!!!!!

MinglingFlamingo · 17/06/2022 12:51

Of course Mäns is very welcome to come over to present Eurovision any time he wants

Ah, yes, I sort of forgot (sorry) about him Blush

Presenter 1 - Mans
Presenter 2 - Someone Ukrainian
Presenter 3 - Someone else Ukrainian

Just not Phil, Holly, Amanda, Ant or Dec, Dermot, Tess, Vernon etc. 🤞

ProfessorFusspot · 17/06/2022 13:02

When Edinburgh hosted (1972), the UK agreed to take over from Monaco, who weren't able to provide facilities/capacity to meet the EBU's standards. Somewhat similar situation in that Monaco, like Ukraine, wanted to host but couldn't - whereas in other cases countries declined to host after having hosted the previous (or a recent) year.

How about Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood?

Let’s hope they sort the mikes out first.

whynotwhatknot · 17/06/2022 13:04

i hope not aj her voice goes right through me she was usless on big brothers bit on the side

Ant, Dec and Vernon are also ITV. I think you are safe.

Maybe not safe from Claudia or Tess (but my suspicion is they are both 'too old')

Ukraine is much more white than the UK so again if they have a Ukrainian presenter they will be looking to 'balance things up'.

If Rylan is a dead cert, my money is on a woman who is ethnically diverse, young, does live tv broadcast regularly, is bbc contracted and is in light entertainment/music. There aren't that many presenters who are all of those.

Annonymiss123 · 17/06/2022 13:05

@Topseyt123 I think that happened when Johnny Logan won it several times on the trot for Ireland and the Irish broadcaster was running low on funds to keep hosting.

That didn't happen.

whynotwhatknot · 17/06/2022 13:06

clara amfo?

Annonymiss123 · 17/06/2022 13:06

Needmorelego · 17/06/2022 12:21

@Topseyt123 no everyone knows that when Ireland didn't want to win again they entered with 2 lovely priests called Father Ted and Father Dougal and their song 'My Lovely Horse'. It was a good song....just a bad performance on the night 😂

😂😂

Itstime1 · 17/06/2022 13:07

I hope we do get to host it and hope we can get tickets! I unashamedly love it and so want to go!! 😄

AJ's downside is her voice! She may require subtitles for the rest of Europe.

clara amfo?

Good shout.

Although

Since February 2017, Amfo presented backstage at the BRIT Awards for ITV2.

She isn't a big name though, so she may not be on an ITV exclusively contract (unlike the above mentioned who I'm pretty sure all are). She may just be on a single event tv contract.

If she not, I think she is a good call.

I'll pay to see Jeremy vine host it
