What about Maya Jama? She seems to be presenting more and more at the moment.

MassiveSalad22 · 17/06/2022 13:18

We all saw that coming. So exciting!!

Redshoeblueshoe · 17/06/2022 13:20

I've no idea why - but I thought it was going to be held at Salford Quays

TooBigForMyBoots · 17/06/2022 13:22

JaneJeffer · 17/06/2022 12:24

megletthesecond · 17/06/2022 13:23

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 17/06/2022 13:23

She does my head in on Glow Up!

SleepingStandingUp · 17/06/2022 13:25

Confirmingmyusername · 17/06/2022 12:15

It will be emotional!

Definitely should be in London.

Why? Hardly central is it, we should be utilising the centre of the country /UK more

SleepingStandingUp · 17/06/2022 13:25

megletthesecond · 17/06/2022 13:23

Ukrainian presenters with AJ & Rylan please.

Dear lord, seems cruel to the poor Ukrainian presenter

APJ1 · 17/06/2022 13:27

I hope the hosts will be Ukranian, although I too think we can never have too much Mans! 😚

The UK was a very clear second, and had it been left at the jury vote would have been the clear winner.

It's not so certain.

Clara Amfo does quite a lot of live broadcast stuff, and was part of the team that won a BAFTA for The Earthshot prize so I think she could be in with a shout.

I'd also back Rylan to do it, he loves Eurovision and that shines through.

ConfusedByDesign · 17/06/2022 13:30

I knew this was the reason why countries suddenly voted for UK.
They still hate us and want us to foot the bill

MinglingFlamingo · 17/06/2022 13:35

megletthesecond · 17/06/2022 13:23

Ukrainian presenters with AJ & Rylan please.

AJ & Rylan- I can imagine that would be like a 5 year olds birthday at a soft play with lots of sugar. There would be a lot of screeching and giggling

balalake · 17/06/2022 13:39

Whilst I would understand a presenter who is gay or lesbian being chosen, please not Rylan.

Confirmingmyusername · 17/06/2022 13:56

Clara Amfo is a very good call, she’s lovely- her joy shines through in all the live presenting she does. A bit like Rylan. They would be a fab pairing.

re: Tess and Vernon… actually Vern is quite funny and really good when he guests on radio 2. Tess is wooden, but that fits quite well with Eurovision!

I know they need younger presenters, but if age were no object, I’d love Graham, Rylan with Mel and Sue!

JaneJeffer · 17/06/2022 13:57

Ooh yes Vernon would be good.

MustBeDueSomeBetterFeet · 17/06/2022 13:58

Can we go? Can we go? Can we go?

AclowncalledAlice · 17/06/2022 14:29

redbigbananafeet · 17/06/2022 12:20

Oh good it'll be Phil and Holly won't it

Or Ant and fucking Dec.

goingback · 17/06/2022 14:32

definitely going to be in the Glasgow Hydro - blocked out 2nd week of May in calendar

LoveLarry · 17/06/2022 14:40

I really hope it is the Hydro

LoveLarry · 17/06/2022 14:42

Confirmingmyusername · 17/06/2022 12:15

Why?

MummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking · 17/06/2022 14:43

It would be a pain getting to Glasgow for me so from an entirely selfish point of view, yes please Wales especially if it's Cardiff. Or Leeds/Manchester.

And gosh no Phil and Holly, Ant and Dec etc, that'd be bloody awful!

I too had a feeling it'd be coming. I'll be trying for tickets, I keep saying one day I'll go and haven't so far.

Topseyt123 · 17/06/2022 12:06

I think this was on the cards the minute the public vote so dramatically made Ukraine the winner.

The UK was a very clear second, and had it been left at the jury vote would have been the clear winner. So I would consider it fair and reasonable that we should host next year's competition.

The BBC has stepped in occasionally when other broadcasters have been in difficulty over hosting before. I think that happened when Johnny Logan won it several times on the trot for Ireland and the Irish broadcaster was running low on funds to keep hosting.

The UK have never hosted it on behalf of Ireland!

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 17/06/2022 14:52

That's very exciting. My DD will want to go.
The BBC loaned cameras to RTE one time so that the contest could be broadcast in colour way back in the days when Ireland was still in black and white :)

LookItsMeAgain · 17/06/2022 14:55

I was away from my laptop for a bit and I come back to find this gem of a comment from @Topseyt123 -
"The BBC has stepped in occasionally when other broadcasters have been in difficulty over hosting before. I think that happened when Johnny Logan won it several times on the trot for Ireland and the Irish broadcaster was running low on funds to keep hosting"

I mean FFS!!!!

We won the competition (currently) more than any other country in the competition, 3 of those times back to back and we hosted each and every single time Ireland has won. Please toddle off with your UK swept in and helped out our wee little neighboureenoo Ireland when they ran out of money attitude. RTE has hosted very well thank you very much. We gave the world Riverdance during the Eurovision interval. No interval act has come close either before or since.

Your comment is not only ignorant of the facts. Why didn't you think of even checking with the master - Google that is???

The UK may be the "in reserve" host country but you've not won the competition outright to host it as many times as Ireland has.
