How many more ways to fuck up the country can this government invent?

I’m 58 and have never ever seen a government so full of lying, corrupt twats who just don’t give a shit.

And as l grew up under Thatchet l think that’s saying something! It’s like a horror show watching them.

No-one has ever seen a worse government, it is the worst UK government ever. I thought Harold Macmillan's government with seven relatives and a transport secretary whose family owned a company that built roads was bad enough, but this one is even worse.

Bunnyfuller · 15/06/2022 20:46

Have nothing to add. It is horrific.

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 15/06/2022 20:47

It's bloody awful. And we can't even escape because they won't give us passports and all the flights are cancelled.

Unless you want to go to Rwanda ofc.

StillWeRise · 15/06/2022 20:48

yes, I never thought I'd look back to Thatcher and think...'actually, she was awful, but not THIS awful'

MissyB1 · 15/06/2022 20:49

Got to agree with you OP. I’m 54 and can’t remember ever being actually ashamed to be British before, I’m totally embarrassed about our immoral and incompetent Government.
It’s a like a very long bad dream, well more of a nightmare really!

Yorkshirebred · 15/06/2022 20:49

And thus it was ever so......

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/06/2022 20:50

It’s like watching a horror show unfold. They just don’t give a shit. It’s like they smack the country in the face, it staggers back up then they do it again and again.

Northern Ireland
Human Rights
Airports
Inflation
Jobs for the boys
Wasting the country’s money on shit
State of the NHS and Dentistry
Doing whatever the fuck they want, whilst 1/2 the country can’t afford to eat.
Its so depressing

Sadly have to agree. It seems like a race to empty the piggy bank and let everyone sink to the bottom.
I suppose, the only silver lining, is it can’t get any worse can it? (I suspect it can.)

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 15/06/2022 20:51

It's the knock on effects too. Like, nothing is working properly because everything that organisations and individuals need to be able to do anything is either unavailable or extremely expensive.

spanishsummers · 15/06/2022 20:51

You forgot the takeover of a great many GP practices and health centres by a private company, who have replaced GPs with unsupervised physicians associates.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/06/2022 20:51

I loathed Thatcher but at least she was an intelligent woman with some principles, even if I didn't agree with them. She worked very hard and she didn't suffer fools gladly. Johnson is a fool, he has recruited a cabinet full of fools and he is incorrigibly lazy, incompetent and dishonest. This is the worst government of my lifetime, and I'm over 60. Utterly shameful.

ElephantsFart · 15/06/2022 20:52

It’s ridiculous and appalling.

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 15/06/2022 20:52

They're all going to go on holiday too in a week or so.

EBearhug · 15/06/2022 20:54

I can never forgive Borus Johnson for making me think even Thatcher was better. But at least she had integrity and principles and a level of competence, even if her politics were awful.

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 15/06/2022 20:55

Agree. And also agree with a pp that she worked hard. I don't think this lad rouses himself till mid morning most days, and he doesn't do a lot after either.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/06/2022 20:55

I hated hated Thatcher, but l just don’t think she would have had parties during lockdown.

Still hate her though.

That was the war mongering blaire

I feel exactly the same (and am a similar age).

MissyB1 · 15/06/2022 20:57

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g Absolutely. I didn’t agree with any of Thatcher’s policies, but no one could have faulted her work ethic. She wouldn’t have tolerated 5 minutes of BoJo, she would have chewed him up and spat him out!

So who would you rather have?

Prime Ministers in my lifetime:
Macmillan
Douglas-Home
Wilson
Heath
Callaghan
Thatcher
Major
Blair
Brown
Cameron
May
Johnson

The only one I can see having parties in lockdown or similar and being stupid enough to get caught is Johnson.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/06/2022 21:00

I think Thatch would have been concerned (selfishly) about the economy. Boris doesn’t give a shit were about to enter a massive recession (well depression really). He’s plundered all the country’s money on wasted PPI and shit testing.

And my kids will be paying for this. Just seen the report about education in The Times. Full of great ideas, but no one in government will care. Just like the food report.

As an outsider, looking at Britain often astounds me.

What do you all expect to achieve from behind your keyboards? Why aren’t there riots in the street?

You’re all taking this lying down.

PrescriptionOnlyMedicine · 15/06/2022 21:02

I agree with you, OP. I’ve never hated a government as much as this shower of fuckwitted and corrupt idiots.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/06/2022 21:02

Who would l rather have?

If it has to be a Conservative, Jeremy Thingy or at a push Jeremy Hunt. Even Theresa May for God’s sake, at least she had integrity.
