How many more ways to fuck up the country can this government invent?

I’m 58 and have never ever seen a government so full of lying, corrupt twats who just don’t give a shit.

And as l grew up under Thatchet l think that’s saying something! It’s like a horror show watching them.

Another here who had no time for Thatcher and never thought I would say bring her back but by god I am so near to saying yes I would prefer Thatcher in No 10 this evening

Yorkshirebred · 15/06/2022 21:04

I never thought I'd say this but Margaret Thatcher was a top notch PM (I was around during the miners strike/ War with Argentina and Poll Tax revolt. Boris would not be fit to lick her well coiffed hair.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/06/2022 21:04

So am l!

How has it come to this?! At least she was organised and efficient. And did stuff for the economy. I read somewhere that the CBI are swinging towards Labour as Boris is such a loose cannon.

And no doubt Scotland will vote to leave us and rejoin the EU as soon as they can. Don’t blame them

leotardrock · 15/06/2022 21:05

I'd be looking to get out & live somewhere else but the bastards have taken free movement away! 😕

OhTheLeetleHandsAndFeetle · 15/06/2022 21:05

The Rwanda policy still has me utterly speechless. I can’t believe I live in a country run by people who think this is ok.

TulipsGarden · 15/06/2022 21:05

Keir Starmer, please. An intelligent, competent, law-abiding man. He may not be perfect but he's a hell of a lot better than Johnson.

Theworldisfullofgs · 15/06/2022 21:05

I completely agree.

They are inept, greedy and really not bright. They might be well educated but they are not bright. Lack morals. Everyday you think it can't get any worse then it gets worse.

StillWeRise · 15/06/2022 20:48

yes, I never thought I'd look back to Thatcher and think...'actually, she was awful, but not THIS awful'

Exactly, she was appalling, but this shower is far, far, worse. The future is grim.

Stripyhoglets1 · 15/06/2022 21:07

Vikki69 · 15/06/2022 20:56

That was the war mongering blaire

No it wasn't. He did PPI which was xrap but he didn't bring in what is happening now with privatisation.

leotardrock · 15/06/2022 21:08

Yvette Cooper pretty was amazing today - taking apart the Rwanda Policy!

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 15/06/2022 21:08

Who would I rather have? Anyone really. The 8 yo lad downstairs who spent 2020 saying "bye bye covid" in the hopes it would all be over soon. The bloke I used to work for who dissolved his business and instead set himself up as an exclusive potter for the emerging TOWIE market. The girl I went to school with who practiced writhing around on the playing field in the hope she would indeed grow up to be a dolphin. In fact pretty much every person I've ever met in my long long life including people now dead would make a better job of running the country than this sack full of lazy carcinogenic spivs.

Peterbear · 15/06/2022 21:09

You're right op it's a shambles. So depressing.

DwightShrutesYFronts · 15/06/2022 21:11

So who would you rather have?

Does it matter? Even Screaming Lord Sutch couldn't actually be worse.

GodneySaysWorkBitch · 15/06/2022 21:13

MindYourHeadDoggy · 15/06/2022 21:02

As an outsider, looking at Britain often astounds me.

What do you all expect to achieve from behind your keyboards? Why aren’t there riots in the street?

You’re all taking this lying down.

There were moves to organise in the run up to the jubilee. I think the main people concerned are still wanting to put something together.

It's pockets rather than outright everyone on the streets everywhere but it's starting to rumble.

Tiepose · 15/06/2022 21:13

What would Thatcher do if she met Boris Johnson? Would she hit him?

luckylavender · 15/06/2022 21:13

StillWeRise · 15/06/2022 20:48

yes, I never thought I'd look back to Thatcher and think...'actually, she was awful, but not THIS awful'

Exactly. She also had a strategy (which I didn't support), she was efficient, not corrupt and hardworking.

AmaryIlis · 15/06/2022 21:14

It's extraordinary how in some ways Thatcher looks like a liberal compared with this government. At least she left things like legal aid reasonably intact. And you simply cannot imagine staff at 10 Downing Street daring to break the Covid rules under her, let alone having multiple parties.

Wrongkindofovercoat · 15/06/2022 21:15

Can't help feeling the Summer of discontent is going to be a walk in the park compared with whats going to hit in the Autumn/Winter.

Also waiting for the 'if you don't like it , you can leave' brigade to turn up.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 15/06/2022 21:15

What would Thatcher do if she met Boris Johnson? Would she hit him?

With her handbag like on Spitting Image?

I wish she’d sort out Lord Snooty too.

VeryQuaintIrene · 15/06/2022 21:17

I am the same vintage as you, OP and I completely agree, except let's not forget Theresa May's enthusiasm for creating a hostile environment for immigrants in the Home office, so I didn't love her either.

Confirmingmyusername · 15/06/2022 21:17

Surely the time has come for us to get out on the streets?

Confirmingmyusername · 15/06/2022 21:21

I hear PP is looking to bring back capital punishment, so it could get a lot worse. Can’t believe this living nightmare

Neverendingdust · 15/06/2022 21:22

Vote for a clown, you get a circus. What did everyone expect?

The sad absurdity is there’s still support from a large chunk of the electorate for this utterly useless sham government. AND!!! The outlook is it’s only going to get much worse!

🤣😂 Great Britain.
LOL.

BeenToldComputerSaysNo · 15/06/2022 21:23

Agree OP. It's depressing.
