The SEN/ASD stuff..... As others have said, being a parent of a child with SEN/ASD or similar is lonely as hell. You feel stuck in a big black hole all by yourself with absolutely no way of getting out.
I think some people post suggesting ASD/SEN because they are just being silly or being provocative but others because they genuinely may recognise some of the behaviours - It's one of the reason ASD is so difficult to understand. There is a very fine line between whether a behaviour is due to ASD or just generally misbehaving/pushing boundaries.
Take my DD, people outside of the family think, she is naughty, defiant, rude, aggressive, disobedient. Children judge her and the parents judge me. I have no school parent friends left.
DD has ASD potentially ADHD, she cannot cope with school or the school setting very well. Her teachers also describe her as naughty, defiant, rude, aggressive, disobedient. Every single day is a battle. School do help but have a tainted view. What works on a Thursday may not work on a Friday.
I read parents on here all the time writing about sleep deprivation with their baby or toddler.
My DD is 15. The last time I slept through the night was two weeks before she was born in July 2007.
