On TV, I often see Bozo visiting a school, just seen him at another one. Why? Is this to soften his image or just to avoid belligerent questioning by stroppy journalists doing their job? Poor kids.

Roussette · 23/05/2022 18:09

I would be so hacked off if I was at that party in the pic and got fined, and he didn't!
I didn't know parties during a strict lockdown meant you could pop in, stand next to people, down a few drinks and pick up a red suitcase which absolves you.

He tested positve for Covid a few days later and had to self isolate.

The thing is as Michael Fabricator so succulently point out, it is no different from what teachers and nurses did everyday.

Roussette · 23/05/2022 18:43

Here he is answering questions about that party...

Funny how he always only stays for 10 minutes at an event, even when he instigates it...

Because it takes 11 minutes to catch Covid fully. Therefore leaving at 10 means it's within the rules. However, since he subsequently developed covid, it must have taken him a bit longer to down the wine than usual or maybe the exit was blocked by the empties? Anyway, reasons, so there.

Roussette · 23/05/2022 19:16

@SophyRidgeSky
The PM’s spokesman has now confirmed Number 10 officials initiated a meeting between Sue Gray and Boris Johnson to discuss her investigation into lockdown parties…

Quelle surprise

So why all the prevarication about who initiated the meeting yesterday? It’s like they’re deliberately setting out to make themselves look shifty.

For the past nearly 9 months I have been consistently astounded by the sheer lack of political awareness in Number 10. Do they believe their own hype as much as Putin and everyone in Downing Street is so busy telling their masters what they want to hear that they are incapable of seeing what everyone else sees?

Why did Rishi need a survey to find out why he is unpopular? Surely it is obvious?

Notonthestairs · 23/05/2022 20:43

They are politically aware. They know what they are doing - smirk, swift non-apology or a reference to a previous non-apology, rabble rousing talk to the 1922 denying any responsibility and then bung the backbenchers some anti woke rhetoric and off they go again.

Tory MPs seem unable to demand their leaders meet even basic standards.

Notonthestairs · 23/05/2022 20:49

Proof 🛒 at event where others fined but not him. Why? Coverup.
Proof 🛒 lied to MPs.
If MET asked 🛒 re this then 🛒 lied to them, if MET didn't...
& MET ignored written evidence of birthday evening party organised from flat

I don't think they are trying to make themselves look shifty, they are shifty. So much so they just can't help themselves, even over stupid unimportant stuff.

L1ttledrummergirl · 23/05/2022 20:50

For those asking about Clav, they're on another thread at the moment.

Blossomtoes · 23/05/2022 20:52

I know they’re shifty @L1ttledrummergirl. The point I was making is that they seem to be going out of their way to prove it. I’m beginning to wonder if they’d be relieved to find themselves out of power, they’re completely out of their depth.

DuncinToffee · 23/05/2022 20:53

DuncinToffee · 23/05/2022 20:57

This is what we were told by Johnson a few days before Nov 13th

Boris Johnson, FPN's, and Sue Gray report due. Thread 5
Manekinek0 · 23/05/2022 20:57

Spoke to the MIL about this earlier, she is a Tory voter. The replies were "imagine how much worse things would have been with Corbyn" and "he seems to have done a good job with Brexit". The greased piglet can do no wrong in some voters eyes.

itsgettingweird · 23/05/2022 20:58

I never know whether to be in awe or terrified of Cummings!

Notonthestairs · 23/05/2022 21:01

Itsgettingweird - yeah Im with you there! I'm not a subscriber so I can't read his sub stack - but I am not convinced I'd be able to follow it anyway!

borntobequiet · 23/05/2022 21:01

They know what they are doing

They so do. I’m hearing a lot about the “cut in National Insurance” which doesn’t mention that it’s a cut in the rate they previously put up. Like those offers in shops that neglect to say that the higher price was for a month only last November or whatever.

the80sweregreat · 23/05/2022 21:05

Blossom toes
Clav is on a different thread.
Maybe the monkey pox virus will turn into this years coronavirus and they all can't face it anymore? Or his running out of schools or factories willing to have him round.

Who knows? This story isn't going anywhere yet. Why trolly emojis on Cummings Twitter feed? What's that about ? ( if it is him ! )
People still defend the government though, I know many who do this too. People who are very pro Boris Johnson

ClaudineClare · 23/05/2022 21:06

The way Cummings uses 🛒 makes me laugh.

ClaudineClare · 23/05/2022 21:08

🛒= Johnson because Cummings once referred to him as being like an out of control shopping trolley.
