DCs have been told a nuclear attack is imminent

RedChina · 11/05/2022 22:39

By their 'D'F. I've name changed for obvious reasons.
Is it imminent? ExH thinks so. He hasn't told me but according to DS (6th form student) he has planned to send the DCs to the other side of the world !we are in the UK) to avoid the radiation fallout of a nuclear attack.
It came to light after I overheard a phone conversation/argument between DS & ex H.
I think there are many flaws in the exH plan, DS thinks his DF has gone mad.
Does anyone else know of others making nuclear war plans?

OP posts:

It's only just come to light after over hearing the argument. Ex H wants to fly to another country to get DSs passport approved within the next couple of days. DS has teenage stuff to do, course work, part time job, friends to see. His DF has offered to reimburse the money he would lose if he doesn't work at the weekend.

This is mental.

Luculentus · 12/05/2022 07:23

How do they get Australian citizenship? Is your ex Australian?

I remember 'children of the dust'.

Me too, Gave me nightmares for a long time. We were all told to read it in Primary school. Your poor kids having their dad fill their heads with this stuff. I can't believe he's not even planning to go with them, just send them off. He sounds completely crazy.

DappledShade · 12/05/2022 07:31

We've just made sure we have some emergency chocolate in😁

Seriously, your ex needs to be stopped as this sounds ridiculous. If there is an all put nuclear war the whole world will be pretty stuffed anyway. I'm another one suggesting he reads Neil Shute's 'On the beach'.

FindingMeno · 12/05/2022 07:32

Poor kids.
He needs to shut the fuck up.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 12/05/2022 07:34

Your ex sounds unhinged.

Lovemusic33 · 12/05/2022 07:34

I think he needs sectioning, he sounds crazy 😬

I don’t think a nuclear attack is imminent, I don’t think it will ever happen, why would anyone want to wipe out the planet (because that’s what it would do), nothing would be gained from it so it would be pointless.

DangerouslyBored · 12/05/2022 07:38

Oh not this shite again. Your ex is unhinged. Stop paying attention to crazy people.

givethatWolfAbanana · 12/05/2022 07:40

Does everyone really think it is that crazy?

I mean, I would not do it

but a nuclear attack is a real possibility right now

Putin is mad. Pretty scary IMO

Yes, it's crazy. If there is nuclear war, nowhere will be safe. The entire human race will be wiped out. So it's utterly pointless to worry.

3g4g5g · 12/05/2022 07:44

Surely this must be a wind up😄

SatsumaLover · 11/05/2022 23:07

This does sound concerning OP - either he is having a breakdown or he knows something?

Or plans the take the kids away under false pretences

Sally090807 · 12/05/2022 07:46

No country should be allowed nuclear weapons, why should anyone have to live in fear or this, we’ve wrecked this beautiful planet enough already. To think it could all be turned to dust at the push of a button by some unhinged madman is terrifying.

RodiganReed · 12/05/2022 07:47

OP it sounds like you may have done this in the past, but if it's not already in place you need to fork out the 200 or so quid to apply for a Prohibited Steps order, to prevent him from taking the kids out of the country.

You also need to keep hold of their passports or alert the passport office if he has them ASAP.

I've seen too many families ripped apart by international abduction - the Hague Convention isn't always a guaranteed method of getting them back.

I would also put money on him not really believing nuclear war is imminent, rather he is using this theory to place himself in a position of power, to justify his abduction of the boys, and to be generally an abusive arsehole. Take the wind out of his sails, pronto.

iheartmybeachhut · 12/05/2022 07:47

Why would he want to send your dc to Australia and yet stay here himself? I just don't understand this.
He sounds delusional and in his mind thinks he is saving the dc, that in itself is dangerous. I would seriously consider leaving him to be honest because this could really esculate and potentially end in tragedy.

Putun is mad but his own people will turn against him before they press the red button.

This is a Dad trying to get his kids out the country. They are of an age where they have to want to go, you couldn't drag an 11 yo and 16yo through airport security if they didn't want to go or convince them it's only for a short holiday. He's playing mind games to convince them to leave their mum, family and friends behind

aprofoundhistoricalnovalty · 12/05/2022 07:50

I grew up in the 60's, after the Cuban missile crisis my mum kept enough sleeping tablets to kill both of us in the event of an attack.
Which, tbh, if it does kick off is probably all you can do.
On the beach (book and film) gave me nightmares for years.

I would worry OP, that he's either having a mental health crisis, or trying to get the children away from you permanently. Either way, be careful and put a block on their passport!

Femalewoman · 12/05/2022 08:00

There are online groups where a lot of them appear to have gone down the rabbit hole. An ex was a member and they were always predicting some end of world SHTF scenario and preparing or discussing what they would do.
The language was extreme and used the usual conspiracy theory buzz words, do your own research, covid con, The Great Resent, plans to kill a large number of the population etc. Everything that happened would be an excuse to point to the Cabal, the controllers.

Most of them seem completely loopy and probably needs some meds. Scare tactics and constant predictions of the West and MSM controlling us 'Sheeple' and they were 'awake to that' and so prepped and ready for what was coming.

Is he a member of one of these groups?

Femalewoman · 12/05/2022 08:13

Meant Great Reset

The “conspiracist worldview” is very odd.

ChloeHel · 12/05/2022 08:14

My god, reading this has hurt my head, too early in the morning. Too many DFs, Dcs and Dgms I can’t comprehend this early haha.

I think you should take what he’s saying with a pinch of salt, he sounds just slightly unhinged.

Wheresthebeach · 12/05/2022 08:26

He's terrifying your children so you need to protect them. It's either a mental health crisis or he's trying to get them out of the country and away from you.

I'd get advice, fast, as both are incredibly damaging.

Arenanewbie · 12/05/2022 08:40

^ this 100%
I would act fast re: passport, prevention order, talking with kids, notifying school etc And I would tell about this to relatives and friends without any jokes, it’s serious, he’s putting his plan into action already.

milkyaqua · 12/05/2022 09:33

It's not really paranoia when Putin has several time threatened using nuclear weapons.

SomethigWentBang · 12/05/2022 10:05

No need to flee to another country. Just get a few more bog rolls in.
