Ah yes the rather bold argument that they didn't expect the EU to actually implement the deal both parties signed up to.

He didn't give a shiny for those impact assessments. It was all about getting elected and then trashing the "oven ready deal".

As predicted.

ClaudineClare · 17/05/2022 09:05

Arrogance seeps from every pore. He doesn't think he should be held accountable for a single thing.

I wish Ed Miliband hadn't stood down after the 2015 election.

BJ really needs to adjust his facial expressions. If I didn't know any better I would imagine the journo was relating some funny lines from a comedy show and Johnson was about to burst out laughing.
As opposed to a very tenuous situation with the NI border and protocols.

Claudine thanks for that clip, I watched it again yesterday, I remember seeing it first time round.
Every Tory voter should watch. and maybe those on here could comment on what Milliband is saying.

It was clear even back then that Johnson gave not a toss about the detail.

Have I fallen for a Poe's Law here? [Someone who is spoofing a believer such that it's impossible to tell spoof from genuine]

I am a true believer.

That explains everything :-)

An exhaustive compendium of lies told by BJ and his government, for those that doubt he’s a liar. Website run by Peter Oborne, chief political commentator at the Telegraph and with impeccable Tory credentials until he had enough of the nonsense, and others.

He is desperately trying not to smirk in that interview.

I'm willing to bet he didn't read the Impact Assessment thoroughly, he is notoriously lazy when it comes to that sort of thing. The Daily Mail heads will buy the line that it is the horrid EU being nasty bullies to the plucky UK, though. How dare they enforce a contract that government signed up to!

I'm willing to bet that the closest he got to the impact assessment was using it to balance his cheese platter on.

"New: Understand writ will be moved tomorrow for both the Wakefield and Tiverton and Honiton by-elections and they're likely to be held on the same day - June 23."

Or as JaniieJones would say" A patient smile while the interviewer asks ridiculous questions".

Ed Miliband, are you serious?! Even Angela was glancing at her watch.

Yes challenge and scrutinise the pm of course, but not with all the spitting and gurning. He needs some public speaking tips.

Saucery · 17/05/2022 11:08

Wow. Criticising someone’s speech disorder now. 😞

Oh sorry I didn't realise he has a speech disorder. Apologies. What speech disorder?

ClaudineClare · 17/05/2022 11:12

Ed Miliband is a really decent man.

Peregrina · 17/05/2022 11:14

Surely if Boris Johnson did think that his Oven Ready Deal was good, he would have wanted the EU to keep to it? Proof to me that he signed in bad faith. I believe that it is a good deal for NI.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 17/05/2022 11:18

Agreed. Unfortunately the UK public don't value decent men and would rather go for lying, heartless criminals so long as they sound posh.

I thought it was only female interviewers of Boris that asked ridiculous questions, after all he knows what a woman is.

MarshaBradyo · 17/05/2022 11:27

Do you know where I could find such a discussion?

if it’s SM you mean most people spend time talking about what they don’t like, so threads or comments like this one are there for Starmer, especially since beergate. Partygate obviously has been going for months so many off the back of that.

Lib Dems are doing better due to both but you won’t get many SM comments on that, people don’t tend to invest time in praising politicians, it’ll be more in the votes

SueSaid · 17/05/2022 11:12

The one you just mocked.

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2022 11:44

It's easier to make fun of someone rather than adressing what was said.

Look a squirrel

LEnferCestLesAutres · 17/05/2022 11:54

Break COVID legislation...break international treaties... illegally prorogue parliament... lie compulsively and copiously, to everyone up to and including parliament and the Queen...

This is a pattern of behaviour. This is who Johnson is. He will not change.
The rule of law matters. This is why we must get rid of him, and this is why the "it's just a bit of cake" argument is either cynical or myopic or both.

SueSaid · 17/05/2022 11:59

'Or as JaniieJones would say" A patient smile while the interviewer asks ridiculous questions"

I would say that yes. He is very patient and polite when 'reporters' are shouting repetitive questions and interrupting. Imagine if he went all Sturgeon and started tutting and eye rolling.

He has. He did it only a couple of weeks ago. Is the smirk standard Cabinet issue now?

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2022 12:23

So it's fine to lie when you do it with a smile Janiie?
