Big Dog cocks his Big Leg and the results trickle down all over us as promised. World leading trickle.

Blossomtoes · 16/05/2022 15:37

You forgot that he won Eurovision @jgw1.

balalake · 16/05/2022 16:04

jgw1 Compare Mr Johnson to other possible Tory leaders (say those who came in the top 3 or 4 in the last Tory leadership election). I am certain every one of them would have done better in the pandemic, and in almost every other thing. At least 20,000 fewer deaths from Covid 19 in the UK for starters.

And all of them treat women with some respect, don't lie on an industrial scale, and have some moral values.

ADadInDisguise · 16/05/2022 17:08

@JGW1
The fact of the matter is you can post as many of these woke links attacking the Prime Minister, but he has got the big decisions right. Just look at the pandemic, the vaccine role out. World leading.

He was generally reactive not proactive dealing with the pandemic. He locked down the day after sending the kids back to school! His lockdowns were late and because of that they had to be longer and deeper.

We spend millions on a track and trace app which we then ditched to spend more an another one. Ireland developed their app for 0.8 million. Germany offered their app for us to use. The track and trace itself cost billions, and then there were the VIP Fast Lanes. Why buy dodgy PPE directly from China for £40m when your party donor/friend can buy PPE from China for £40m and sell it to you for £140m keeping the change? The EU started later than us on vaccine rollout, but rapidly caught up (oh, and we were under EU law when we did it, so the vaccine rollout is not a valid argument for Brexit).

It wasn't Boris drinking beer from a bottle in Durham was it?

The BBC and Private Eye both list the party timeline in No10. Johnson had a Work Meal with Wine, much the equivalent of Starmer's work meal with beer. Johnson's work meal with wine was deemed within the rules and no further action has been taken. Starmer's work meal with beer should also be within the rules. It is very disengenious of our gutter press to push on the beer thing given this.

And above all else Boris knows what a woman is and so he will continue to have my support no matter what he does,

No politician is questioning what a woman is. However the law concerning gender recognition is something different.

because Jeremy Corbyn.

Very possibly Wink

I'm a recent convert to Larry&Paul - they are v good.

DuncinToffee · 16/05/2022 17:26

Matt Green and Rosie Holt are very good too. So many people believe that Rosie Holt is a real MP which is funny and worrying at the same time.

In your haste to copy and paste you missed the most important part of my post @JaniieJones

Not up to @Clavinova high standards.

Is that the same light-hearted spirit one should take posts that say that breaking the law for 10 minutes doesn't count?

Ah yes the second part is correct also. It's like my work here is done <proud>.

And that is exactly why Boris will not win another general election.

Roussette · 16/05/2022 20:43

In the absence of further fpns it's a bit tumbleweedy though isn't it

With all due respect... why come on here then?

Blimey I have been stuck in traffic for 5 hours and come back to this thread and we're derailed all but... Confused

'With all due respect... why come on here then?'

You need to read my comments in context. A pp had said it had been derailed and should get back to the 'BJ is a liar!' chants. I was merely pointing out as there wasn't any further evidence ie more fpns then that discussion was a bit tumbleweedy. Not the thread per se. I like coming on here to offer a balanced view or else it'll just be an echo chamber, much like the brexit threads.

Roussette · 17/05/2022 08:09

I don't chant. I do state facts though. We all know he is... even you.

I bet you're dreading the Sue Grey report.... more FPN's possibly and if BJ doesn't get any, it doesn't take away from the fact those under him are at 100+ at the moment, and more likely to come. Yep, it's that rotten fish again! 🐟🦈

Janii - are you as "the voice of balance" suggesting that Johnson is not a liar?

@JaniieJones in the interests of balance, which of course is tremendously important.

Are you aware of any other workplaces where such a high proportion of staff have been fined for breaking the law as No 10 Downing Street?

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2022 08:33

Here, on Channel 4 last night, the lies about his 'oven ready' brexit deal as admitted by Johnson himself

@JaniieJones I would be deeply interested in hearing the views of those that support Boris Johnson. I don't mean, but Jeremy Corbyn, or Keir had a beer, or Boris knows what a woman is, but hearing from those that actually fundamentally believe that he is doing a good job. Do you know where I could find such a discussion?

So have I understood what he is saying correctly that he is stupid enough to believe that the EU would not implement an international treaty that it had agreed to?
And that is his defence of the mess he has made in Northern Ireland, which was entirely predictable.

DuncinToffee · 17/05/2022 08:47

Yes

Another, we write the rules but we don't expect people to actually follow them
We certainly won't

ClaudineClare · 17/05/2022 08:55

He is desperately trying not to smirk in that interview.

I'm willing to bet he didn't read the Impact Assessment thoroughly, he is notoriously lazy when it comes to that sort of thing. The Daily Mail heads will buy the line that it is the horrid EU being nasty bullies to the plucky UK, though. How dare they enforce a contract that government signed up to!
