And JRM gaslighting us on the morning shows.

But Keir had a beer.

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/05/2022 09:25

Outsourced to the family/mates businesses.
My parents neighbours both built shack extensions along the party line 2 years ago. They didn't bother with planning permission, party wall agreements, talking to my parents, they just built them.

They've caused damage to my parents garden, loss of light and are definitely not in keeping with the area.
Two years down the line we are still waiting to find out from the council what they are planning to do with regard to them either being removed or having to apply for retrospective planning permission. The new system would make this worse. I wonder which MP will be first to take advantage of the new rules?

It's sad when the first response to changes like this is what's in it for them? Who in the government will benefit.

DuncinToffee · 13/05/2022 09:27

Here is JRM saying party gate is a non story

That picture of the champagne is just disgusting.

After watching Suella Braverman on bbcqt last night, and JRM this morning, I feel evil! Unbelievable she is the Attorney General given her ignorance.

Suella got her arse handed to her on a plate time and time again. She came across as ill informed, ignorant and uncaring. The audience didn't let her get away with it.

As for JRM... the message seems to be... the restrictions were unfair. But he didn't expand on whether it was unfair for those unable to see loved ones dying, or go to funerals... or unfair that the government couldn't party with gay abandon.
Oh hang on they did.... but they were fined for it.
He kept saying this was back in February, we have more important things to think about. No idea what he means, and hearing the BBCQT audience last night... no, we aren't moving on, and no, we haven't forgotten.

L1ttle, your poor parents. They don't live in Jendrick's constituency by any chance or his mates'?

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/05/2022 09:32

I'm just watching last nights question time. In my opinion if Suella Braverman really believes the shit that was coming out of her mouth she is too stupid to be in the job.
If she doesn't believe it then she is comfortable lying to the population and shouldn't be in the job. She appears to have taken a leaf out of Johnsons book when it comes to making shit up.

Talking about ripping up the Northern Ireland Protocol, the only thing she could say in all the waffle was that she didn't like it being called that despite that being what they are doing.
Um, her government signed it!

No, but we do have a conservative MP who doesn't respond to letters and is as much use as a chocolate teapot.
Swing seat here though and I have a lot to say in our next election.

DuncinToffee · 13/05/2022 09:35

The government decided against a Bereavement bubble because it would would send wrong message to public', and all the while they partied.

LEnferCestLesAutres · 13/05/2022 09:39

Is the champagne real? Surely even Oliver Dowden wouldn't be so crassly insensitive? I suppose the fact that we can't be sure speaks volumes...

No, they didn't. Some civil servants seem to have pushed the boundaries however when we know fpns have been issued for 10 mins in an office when work continued afterwards it does question the credibility tbh.

Has Johnson received another fpn? The Met seem like a bunch of inefficient ditherers.

SueSaid · 13/05/2022 09:41

'Keir had a beer.'

I know. I bet there were people up and down the country who would have loved a beer with a group of people at 10pm. Tut tut.

DuncinToffee · 13/05/2022 09:43

BBC is very quiet on Brexit bus Ros Atkins explains it well

If you're seeing the latest UK statements on the Northern Ireland Protocol, here's what Boris Johnson and his colleagues have said about the Protocol and the Brexit deal from 2019 through to now. The UK argues its current implementation means the Protocol now has to change.

Bingo cards at the ready!

Remember all those expressions of abject contrition for partygate?

This is how much the Conservatives care. - twitter.com/jayrayner1/status/1525017632029679618

Roussette · 13/05/2022 07:27

Well well well... I wonder how this will play out in Tiverton and Honiton by election.

Neil Parish (porn) is considering running against the conservative pick, as an independent.

As we write the Central Office heavies are on their way round to persuade him that that really wouldn't be in his best interests.

Luculentus · 13/05/2022 09:49

Oops, sorry, should have checked before posting that tweet link.

Well if it's on Twitter it must be true and not photoshopped or anything? 🙄

L1ttledrummergirl · 13/05/2022 09:54

Fuck me, I've got to partygate/beer gate.
She conveniently forgot the facts, used whataboutery, and had the cheek to accuse the labour party of hypocrisy and moving the goalposts.
I have no words.

DuncinToffee · 13/05/2022 09:59

Oliver Dowden's team saying he donated the champagne, but had nothing to do with the description.

Spokesperson says "This item was donated in good faith several months ago" and that Dowden "had no prior knowledge of the description and this is obviously not his view”.

I doubt Jay Rayner, the chef and journalist who writes restaurant reviews and is well known, would be making it up. Nice try though!

Didn't you read duncin's post?

Not sure what being a chef or 'Well known' has to do with it tbh. Gullible, thick folk obviously come in all shapes and forms.

DuncinToffee · 13/05/2022 10:13

The picture wasn't fake or photoshopped though.

No but the comment was made up. Obviously, tbh.

Let's hope the well known chef and journalist who writes restaurant reviews deletes and apologises.
