Teenage parents

I saw a post on here slating teenage parents...
NEARLY EVERYONE ON HERE WAS SLATING TEENAGE PARENTS!!
I'm saddened by this!
I was a teenage mum... I was naive and I was blackmailed into having sex that young. it was my first and I became pregnant. I had my first child when I was 14! It was a disgrace to my family. And I knew it would've been a disgrace to the world. And even though I had "options" I decided that I would keep the baby. That baby is now in his 20s... he has a career. He is healthy etc. I had another child later on in life (20's) and that child had ASD and adhd... he is so special and so loving.
What I'm trying to get here is that why slate such young mums??? It doesn't make them have bad children??? I have never been on the doll. I have always worked. I am a teacher now. And if it was t for my children then this may have not been the case! What I do is for them. Not for me. Stop slating young parents because most young parents are the most loving and most energetic people you could come across... if I was to have a baby now - I don't think I would have the most energy as I did 20 years ago. I'm not saying I would ever want my children to have children young!! Far from it.. but if they did then I would be by their side every once of the way because the world still seems so cruel to a certain age!

She’s certainly not an RE teacher! It says nowhere in the Bible what age Mary was.

Pretty sure we can also cross English and Science off the list 😂

This thread makes me feel so sad. OP's own experience of how she got pregnant to begin with is a good start for why teen pregnancy isn't ideal.
The immaturity in her responses and ranting just adds to the sense of arrested development.

OP, if you're so secure in your reproductive choices, just get on with it then. Maybe donate your now plentiful spare time to assisting those teen mums who don't have the safety net of a paper run income.

Mary? By any stretch, not your typical teenage parent. Confused

Are all teachers not educated?

So I've realise that the mumsnetters on here are obviously over 50 and don't realise what their mothers had to sacrifice for thier life's. As you are all bloody privileged. I am removing myself from this app as it's degradable. I can't believe how you all treat each other
On this site: you must be so proud being so much older and so much wiser!

Firstly, as a teacher, I don't believe for a second that you are also one. Your grammar and spelling is appalling and you have little control over your emotions amongst other things.

Secondly, I can't believe you quoted the bible, specifically Mary, as an example of a good teenage mother. For so many reasons, I can't even begin...

Fascinating how many people know ‘lots of’ teen mums and also ‘lots of’ women who became mums at 44.

How unusual that one’s social circle consists of so many people who’ve had a fairly rare experience at both ends of the scale……but how fortunate when it suits the point you think you’re making…..

HoppingPavlova · 03/05/2022 03:56

I refuse to believe you raised your baby and supported them independently at the age of 14. I suspect it took a lot more than your paper round to financially support your child. Who looked after them while you were finishing g school, or did that not occur at that time?

DogsAndGin · 05/05/2022 10:26

@OldChinaJug I agree with you!

🤣🤣🤣 And all the other subjects too!

It’s when she says, ‘Was Mary a bad mother?!?’

I can just see a cultural studies essay title: “a critical comparison of Vicky Pollard and the Virgin Mary.”
