Are you thinking about cancelling Netflix?

I know loads of people are, I am too. I'm just wondering what the kids watch on it and wondering if we can get friends somewhere else.

None of us really watch TV at all, we have a cursory scroll through about once a week and then put on friends.

I cancelled ours yesterday and Brit box. We have kept Amazon

wtfisgoingonhere21 · 23/04/2022 07:50

If nobody watches it then cancel op.

We were paying the highest tariff because other family used out log in so needed more screens but we've lowered it to £11 a month now because I do watch it and so do the dc.

We also have now tv but I've just got the entertainment package and got it for £5 a month on offer so it's really cheap and comes in handy on crappy days for teens

Duckstuck · 23/04/2022 07:51

Yeah we are keeping it, also have disney plus and amazon. Might cancel it after the new series of Stranger Things but I do enjoy a fair bit of their original content that you can't watch anywhere else.

I have a few streaming services ! We have a small baby and don’t get out much these days so it’s all I have really in the evenings 😂 we have no tv package or anything so i don’t feel it really is costing us very much in the greater scheme of things

WhoWants2Know · 23/04/2022 07:55

I'm not sure we watch it enough to make it worth it. I know my youngest wants to watch Stranger Things, but after that I think I'm done.

Billandben444 · 23/04/2022 07:56

Just jiggled my BT package and get Netflix and NOW for an extra £7 a month. Was going to cancel Discovery+ but grandson likes YouTube on the big screen and there's a new series of 90-day fiance just started...!

britneyisfree · 23/04/2022 08:21

I'm keeping it as I share with a relative who shares their Disney plus, so it doesn't feel like such a drain on resources.

CrapBucket · 23/04/2022 08:24

Netflix is all we really watch. I cancelled Prime and Disney Plus. Exh pays for Netflix. At some point I guess he will change his password but at the moment as long as no one logs out on the TV it still works...

Movetothebeat · 23/04/2022 08:25

My in-laws share their password with us but if they cancelled we wouldn’t then buy it as we don’t watch it much at all. DS(7) watches it more but overall we prefer Disney + and Prime.

KleineDracheKokosnuss · 23/04/2022 08:27

Nope. We use it for foreign language content, and currently the defences it has against using a VPN to access content from abroad aren’t working. So there’s loads of different shows I can get at that aren’t available in the UK. At some point I’ll switch to prime for a bit though.

Cheesechips · 23/04/2022 08:28

No. I don't go out much and watch lots of tv. Streaming services are worth it for me.

cameocat · 23/04/2022 08:31

We regularly cancel and replace with something else (eg Disney plus), then swap back when bored of that.

Floydthebarber · 23/04/2022 08:31

Dds watch a lot on it. I used to watch Madmen but that's prime now. I would be reluctant to get rid of it as Bojack Horseman is just amazing.

Idontevenknow · 23/04/2022 08:34

Definitely not, it's the one we watch the most, we do have some sky channels and Disney plus too but netflix is the last one I'd get rid of

LadyCatStark · 23/04/2022 08:40

No but I managed to halve our Sky package and get Netflix included. We have Disney plus for free from Apple for another few months then we’ll cancel and the only reason I keep Prime is for the delivery but actually, that’s something we can cancel.

TheVanguardSix · 23/04/2022 08:41

Nope. No plans to cancel Netflix. I've been using Netflix since it started out as a mail-order DVD film rental service.

Yes we have Netflix with sky. My husband works for a college so gets prime on a half price student rate. Have been paying for Disney with clubcard points recently!

mowglika · 23/04/2022 09:19

We added it onto our sky so it’s £5 a month, not bad as we do use it a fair bit

Mirrorball2022 · 23/04/2022 09:23

We don’t have sky etc and Netflix is our main streaming. Currently have prime which isn’t as good for us regularly and Disney which I come and go with for a few months then cancel. We can afford them so they are staying for now, Don’t watch a lot of live tv.

AHungryCaterpillar · 23/04/2022 09:25

Already did, my kids never watch it they only watch youtube. (Don’t have sky) we do have Disney plus but I might cancel that as well as my kids don’t really watch it anymore

saggyhairyass · 23/04/2022 09:26

I only have Amazon because I pay for Prime. I only used to watch Outlander on it, but that's gone to Starz now so am waiting for all the episodes to come out before subscribing (then cancelling shortly after).

Netflix remains because there are still a few things on there to watch, but increasingly it's difficult to find anything worth sticking with. Apart from Stranger Things, Bridgerton, and other well-worn favourites there's not a lot of inspiring content.

We also have Disney+ which we keep for the Marvel programming, the new animations, Bob's Burgers, and dramas like Dopesick and Only Murders in the Building. If there was a "best" streaming platform for content, I think Disney+ is it.

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 23/04/2022 09:31

I've not cancelled it but I've changed it to only me. So unfortunately the other 10 people using my account will now have to pay 😃

SquirrelFan · 23/04/2022 09:41

Another one here holding out for Stranger Things! 😍

Hawkins001 · 23/04/2022 09:41

Dvds from charity shops are a lot cheaper in the long run

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 23/04/2022 09:44

No, but I did cancel Disney as we didn’t watch it.
