Seasalt - why the Mumsnet love?

I'm just not feeling it. I keep seeing mumsnetters raving about Seasalt clothes but I can never see anything remotely stylish on their website. Am I missing something?

It's bizarre that grown women on this thread are judging others (and making really weird assumptions about their motivation) based on their taste in clothes.

I buy seasalt (though only in the sales) because I have to wear cotton, theirs is soft and good quality, and it's unfussy and comfortable stuff to wear compared to joules.

I'm not out to project or prove anything through what I wear. If I met anyone who had the same requirements of their clothing as me, I'd recommend sea salt. But I don't give a damn what anyone else chooses to wear.

Precisely and as in all fashion outlets you need to pick and choose what suits you - what could look frumpy on myself could look amazing on someone with a different figure-type and vice versa.

Then shop elsewhere @BitOutOfPractice!

I do, thanks. 🙄 note the use of the phrase “I find…” to denote my opinion.

I have the most wonderful light/medium weight dressing gown/wrap from last year. Called a pottering gown. I got it in teal, and it doesn't seem to be available in that colourway this way. I can actually wrap it comfortably round my ample norks, without feeling they are in danger of escaping. It has pockets, and is a nice cottony/waffle fabric. I remember an ingenious MNer bought both colourways, and stiched them together, giving a reversible heavier weight gown. And it has pockets! If you have a Blue Light Card, or are a teacher, you get 25% off, which makes it a more affordable option.

I look out for the 35% discount which is even betterSmile

My dm likes it as do my dds for some items so it is multi generational.

I thought this was going to be about crisps.

Ooooooo do they email you about the 35% discount or do you just have to keep checking the website?

Abblebee · 04/05/2022 21:47

It's the generous sizing.

I'm autistic and their clothes are one of the few brands that are comfortable enough for me to wear whilst looking reasonably smart.

I need to wear linen or cotton and things that are loose fitting and easy to move in. Seasalt is really one of the few brands where all the clothes are like this.

Thehawki · 09/05/2022 15:38

I love some of sea salts dresses. Pockets, cute patterns, and lightweight. I really don’t think they’re grumpy unless you’re styling them in a frumpy way or have got the wrong cut/size for yourself. If you like other styles then go right ahead and buy from those brands, idc 😂
