For me it has to be jack monroe. She spends all her time showing people how to eat on a budget. Amazing thread this morning where she does a whole weeks worth of food for 37p a meal! Imagine if she was in government

Rory Stewart is an Independent now so he could creat his own Stewart party with Patrick and Rod in the cabinet.

Also JKR as senior advisor and communication director.

ChuckBerrysBoots · 19/04/2022 19:23

“Working class hero” 😂😂 hiya Jack!

I'd definitely vote for them! Would JKR have to add 'Stewart' to her name d'you think?
Maireas · 19/04/2022 19:27

@undermilkjug

Patrick Stewart.

Or Rory Stewart. Either would do.

Possibly at a pinch Rod Stewart.

Not Alastair Stewart?.
undermilkjug · 19/04/2022 19:29

He'd be good too. I thought about maybe James Stewart but he's been dead for a bit too long 🥲

FartyBrainedHippo · 19/04/2022 19:31

JKR for sure!

I'd vote for Fluffy the dog every time over Jack Monroe. Don't give a stuff about her gender expression, but her 'campaigning' seems to mainly consist of ranting on Twitter. Her unpaid taxes also seem to be an issue.

I'd also like Brian Cox, Lucy Worsley, Chris Packham, Mary Berry and Robert Winston.

The actor, not the King of Scotland?
Neverreturntoathread · 19/04/2022 19:35

@MajorCarolDanvers

I'd be happy to have Tony Blair back.
I was thinking this too. He was good at getting stuff done, his work on the Good Friday Agreement was amazing and he did well to get the Olympics here too. Shame he’s so often associated with the Iraq war when his leadership was so much more than that.

He’d be amazing now, if I can’t have Joanne Rowling I’d settle for Tony 😃

SisyphusDad · 19/04/2022 19:36

James May

Maireas · 19/04/2022 19:38

Another vote for Tony Blair - anyone else who was a teacher in 1997 will remember what it was like to get a decent budget, smaller class sizes and extra staff.

undermilkjug · 19/04/2022 19:39

@Maireas definitely the actor Shock

littledrummergirl · 19/04/2022 19:41

Someone who puts what's best for the people of this country and the heart of their decisions, who will discharge the role with honour, integrity and intelligence.
Someone who remembers that they are elected to serve the population rather than the population being there to fleece, use and abuse.

Someone who has a proven track record of standing by their opinions and helping others.

I vote JK Rowling

PiranhaTank · 19/04/2022 19:42

I would replace Nadine Dorries with Richard Osman.

Maireas · 19/04/2022 19:43

Excellent choice.
Giggorata · 19/04/2022 19:44

Haven't read the full thread, so might be repeating, but someone thinks JKR is a joke, when we have Boris?

JKR, without a doubt.

tempester28 · 19/04/2022 19:49

Wouldn’t vote for labour now but as someone else said loosing David Miliband is where it went wrong.

CornishGem1975 · 19/04/2022 19:49

@xedise952 Jack, is that you?

rc22 · 19/04/2022 19:54

By his own admission, Michael Portillo has changed a lot (for the better) since he has been out of politics. He might make a good prime minister now. At least he'd brighten things up with his trousers!!!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 19/04/2022 19:57

@LunaFortuna

Baroness Floella Benjamin - kind, positive, works on many issues and would be an absolutely amazing pm.
How did I not think if her?!

How has no-one mentioned Sandi Toksvig yet? She's a co-founder of the Women's Equality Party. She'd be fantastic.
