Who would be your dream prime minister?

For me it has to be jack monroe. She spends all her time showing people how to eat on a budget. Amazing thread this morning where she does a whole weeks worth of food for 37p a meal! Imagine if she was in government

Kathy Burke

She would be just amazing

niceupthedanceagain · 19/04/2022 12:44

Russell Brand 😂

TulipsGarden · 19/04/2022 12:45

Right now, Yvette Cooper. In a few years, Jess Phillips.

I'm happy with Keir Starmer though, I just wish Labour would get behind him properly. He's too worried about offending the left of the party, but things do seem to be improving. He needs to get the media onside more, and quickly (like Blair did).

CPL593H · 19/04/2022 12:46

In politics, Rory Stewart. Out of them, Jo Brand.

xedise952 · 19/04/2022 12:46

Maybe someone can set up a seperate thread for non serious replies.

I'm not seeing the humour in people starving to death

Ed Miliband

And an odd one coming from me, a left leaning remainer: Alex Phillips (GB News). I know her in real life, she's great. I think she'd do a good job of speaking to people across the political divides.

ChuckBerrysBoots · 19/04/2022 12:51

Oh, didn’t realise your suggestion was “serious” OP. It’s a big nope from me for Jack Monroe, notwithstanding the good work she does for those living in poverty.

HoyaSaxa · 19/04/2022 12:52

I would say Rory Stewart.

Highly recommend his podcast with Alastair Campbell.

Jack Munroe can be a bit economical with the truth. I applaud her work on food poverty, but she has been known to be less than honourable on SM.

And JKR would be a lot better qualified than her anyway.

DoggoShark · 19/04/2022 12:54

Is jk Rowling a joke?

Why would she be a joke? It would be nice to have someone who understands and stands up for women’s rights. She’s intelligent, successful and a role model to millions. She’s lived in poverty and so would have a broad perspective and real empathy for current challenges facing so many in our country. #JKRowlingforPM

decentchap · 19/04/2022 12:58

Ed Balls Jesus - another total prick for PM.
JKRowling is just beyond our galaxy.
Who would I prefer ? John Major was the grey man but had integrity so did william Hague - neither allowed their wives to make policy as they had not been elected Boris is in thrall to his former mistress.
Absolutely honest choice - someone not making a career of politics - one of the armed forces senior Brigadiers - they tend to be intelligent, caring of their men and wise in the ways of the so -called political 'elite'.
Blair was the centerist hope and look how that pillock turned out. Labour is down and out and not just for Corbyn and Diane Abbott.
I think she got the HS's job because they had an affair at Uni - both total dipsticks.
Shame the Queen is too old and Margaret Thatcher (who lost her way in the end) is dead.

Andy Burnham.... if J K Rowling is not an option.

Hawkins001 · 19/04/2022 13:06

Sir Henry James "Harry" Pearce, KBE (born 1 November 1953 )

Daphnedot · 19/04/2022 13:08

Crikey ilI read Rory Stewart as Rod Stewart!!

FAQs · 19/04/2022 13:12

Miriam Margoyles and J K Rowling as a team.

pamplemoussed · 19/04/2022 13:12

Was about to also say Rory Stewart. William Hague was also a good one - he peaked too soon. Am disappointed in Keir Starmer. Bumbling, incompetent liars in power - and yet he still hasn’t managed to make much ground.

custardbear · 19/04/2022 13:13

JVT

Daphnedot · 19/04/2022 13:14

He is not political, but Jonathan Van Tam is a calming man, and a man that could be relied on.

You know Major had a mistress right? A government minister no less. That’s not integrity.

Crikey ilI read Rory Stewart as Rod Stewart!!
Grin To be fair I reckon Rod Stewart would give it a good crack of the whip - he got off his arse to fill in potholes in his local area recently because the local authority weren’t bothering.
Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 19/04/2022 13:18

I’m struggling to see how JKR is a joke, when Jack Monroe is a serious suggestion.

John Smith.
