Who would be your dream prime minister?

For me it has to be jack monroe. She spends all her time showing people how to eat on a budget. Amazing thread this morning where she does a whole weeks worth of food for 37p a meal! Imagine if she was in government

Andy Burnham

LynetteScavo · 19/04/2022 17:14

I'd have thought considering Jack Monroe for prime minister is a joke! I wouldn't vote her in for many reasons!

I'm not sure if why Yvette Cooper isn't prime minister already (well I do know, but you know what I mean) although she's far from my dream candidate.

If we're talking random people Dermot O'Leary. He looks good in a suit.

CPL593H · 19/04/2022 17:14

@PoseyFlump

If this thread is anything to go by then someone should tell Rory Stewart he needs to switch back to labour!

But I'm sticking with King of the North Andy Burnham.

I think that RS is too much of a free thinker for party politics, really. Cats who walk their own walk seem rarer and rarer.

Good though that a posh boy Old Etonian politico went to one meeting of the Bullingdon Club and never returned, because of the behaviour he had witnessed. It says a lot about those who are still so proud to have been part of it.

Comedycook · 19/04/2022 17:17

I actually think Michael Portillo would have been a great prime minister

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 19/04/2022 17:17

Doreen Lawrence

It’s taxable earnings. As is being on TV, doing deals with food companies and all the tips she gets online from her followers.

JKR sells books and pays taxes.

Rantypanties · 19/04/2022 17:18

Jack Monroe!?!?! What, the ‘activist’ who hasn’t paid her company taxes for nearly 3 years?! Yeah sure, great example….

If we’re thinking celebrities I agree with the PP suggestion of Ian Hislop, I reckon he’d do a good all round job as PM.

Mumberjack · 19/04/2022 17:19

Hard no to Jack Monroe, unless you want all her speeches to go the way of her Twitter rants which is “I want to buy a big house, donate to me”

LunaFortuna · 19/04/2022 17:25

Baroness Floella Benjamin - kind, positive, works on many issues and would be an absolutely amazing pm.

Sarkymarky · 19/04/2022 17:27

Jess Phillips please no not ever. Jackie Weaver would be my choice

BirdyBee · 19/04/2022 17:28

Steph McGovern would be my choice!

Ifeellikedancing · 19/04/2022 17:38

Absolutely!

ProseccoStorm · 19/04/2022 17:39

Me - I reckon I'd give it a better shot than Boris or any of the recent lot.

Ifeellikedancing · 19/04/2022 17:42

For some reason my quote didn't work.

Jackie Weaver for prime minister! 😁

ouchyoubiteybugger · 19/04/2022 17:59

Surely it has to be david Attenborough? Or if he's too old then david tennant

ermagerdabear · 19/04/2022 18:03

Good call! I love her.
TidyDancer · 19/04/2022 18:17

Jack monroe would only be a good choice if it was a straight vote between her and the incumbent. And even then it's not a great option. She is not all she would like us to see her as.

I like Yvette Cooper. Or if we're going for fantasy of course JKR.

LynetteScavo · 19/04/2022 18:26

There was nothing wrong with Gordon Brown IMO.

Are we allowed to say Barack Obama? It would be hilarious and fantastic all at once.

xedise952 · 19/04/2022 18:41

@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies

I’m struggling to see how JKR is a joke, when Jack Monroe is a serious suggestion.
And just why is jack monroe not serious? Because she's a working class hero and LGBTQ?

Chestnut23 · 19/04/2022 18:42

Dermot!

Rantypanties · 19/04/2022 18:43

Jack is not working class and definitely not a hero. Do your research!

xedise952 · 19/04/2022 18:44

@FairyCakeWings

I’d be happy with JK Rowling, and I’d hope she’d have David Attenborough, Stephen Fry, Martin Lewis and Ed Balls in her cabinet.

Jack Monroe is bloody awful.

Bloody awful Hmm for helping loads of people eat well on a budget and for constantly fighting for the people that are left behind and starved by the Tories all while they give their friends millions

MajorCarolDanvers · 19/04/2022 18:44

I'd be happy to have Tony Blair back.

I agree. Brown was a much better politician than he gets credit for.
MarshaBradyo · 19/04/2022 18:46

Not sure why JKR was thought to be a joke. She’d be great
