I’m relatively new to Mumsnet (18 months ish). After reading some absolute pearlers today re eating out and managing to make left over toddler meals last 2 days, I’m intrigued to know what are the stand out posts you remember.

Ive read classics but I’m after one liners that made you properly laugh.

@SecretVictoria

The one today about the pub meals and one poster saying it should be “legally required” for food places to do small portions.

One a few years ago, when I had my old user name. OP had an ex that was living off grid and caught and steamed a badger (near the British Museum IIRC) and fed it to her kids.

Oh yes I remember that one GrinGrinGrinGrin

One where an obvious aspiring bonkbuster novel writer or crap journalist came on to tell a bit of a story. Something about being in a hotel in the middle of nowhere before her relatives wedding and eyes meeting with an attractive young whippersnapper over a glass of wine by a crackling fire, shagging them, going to a pre wedding brunch and- oh dear! Shag partner is the groom! Whatever shall I do? I spent the most amazingly erotic night with him etc

One of the first replied was "Did ye, aye"

Cried with laughter at that

I think my all time favourite was when a poster described the awful moment she was struck down with a bout of diarrhoea while on a date, and upon returning to the table her date said to her, “Darling, are you okay? You smell faintly of botty.”

Me and my husband still say that to each other fairly regularly.

JackieQueen · 17/04/2022 11:31

Can't remember what it was about but " boil in the bag vag" comes to mind.

minou123 · 17/04/2022 11:40

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3331982-Radio-station-presenter-bullies-woman-off-the-air?pg=1

This thread is full of great one liners - including from MNHQ

But the one that made me laugh is
"Do you consider yourself good at your job OP?"

MissAmbrosia · 17/04/2022 11:47

Chaos and her mad phone and "I seem t0 have l0st the use of the 4th v0wel". Oxo Tower. I AM CANADIAN!!!

SausagePourHomme · 17/04/2022 12:12

Tablecloth pta mum and "I don't have a tablecloth in my posession"

SixStringFanjo · 17/04/2022 14:00

JackieQueen ...it was a memorable typo that came out as a 'boil in the vag curry'. Hilarity ensued.

Wallawallakoala · 17/04/2022 14:25

Someone said they were making owl noises at a colleague at lunch, not even to be funny, i can't even remember why but it's stayed with me

Wallawallakoala · 17/04/2022 14:26

@JazzPigeon yes!!! That's the one!!

Bunty55 · 17/04/2022 14:28

Recently the thread where the husband had shyted all over the house and the wife was left to clean it up while he watched TV, and said she was feeling like effing crying. Someone asked her if her husband was a Jack Russell. I did laugh out loud at that one

Bunty55 · 17/04/2022 14:29

She even posted photos of the shyte to prove she was not a poo troll :)

Moochio · 17/04/2022 14:37

The one where OP was making eyes over champagne at her inlaws house

ImprobablePuffin · 17/04/2022 18:39

@JackieQueen

Wasn't that one a typo and OP wrote about having a boil in the vag curry Grin
MrsTerryPratchett · 17/04/2022 18:48

Pom bear anyone? Even has it's own emoji Bear

Also, I AM A CANADIAN by StewieGriffinsMum I believe. Someone was Canadiansplaining something and SGM came out with it.

Gaspingandleaping · 17/04/2022 19:05

This was YEARS ago when we all had Nokia phones. One woman posted that she was deleting her text messages and one to her husband said 'yes, with a wooden spoon', so she asked MN what could have been the question... someone posted...

'And you say the dish ran away?'

Oh god it was about 15 years ago and still makes me laugh.

TCMolly · 17/04/2022 19:17

I remember that about the wooden spoon, it was can't breathe funny.

JamTartLover · 17/04/2022 19:30

@JazzPigeon

The one when someone made owl noises at a woman who criticised her yoghurt choice. Telling someone it has to be Muller light or your not doing SW properly (or something like that) was the crazy part but the one noises but derailed the whole thread for poor OP.
This!

When I saw the title of this thread, I read the thread to see if anyone would mention it.

Not sure if it was a real situation but it really made me laugh!

iklboo · 17/04/2022 19:39

Was there one where the poster had shouted something like 'YOUR FACE IS THE CHICKEN' as her MIL?

Gaspingandleaping · 17/04/2022 19:58

@TCMolly

I remember that about the wooden spoon, it was can't breathe funny.
Yay! I never hear of anyone else remembering it 😀
SausagePourHomme · 17/04/2022 20:00

it was "you're the carcass!" someone mentioned it earlier as well.
JulittadeMontrigord · 17/04/2022 20:07

Someone was actually asking for style advice for her first visit to a sex club, my favourite reply of all time “It doesn’t matter what you wear, you’ll come home looking like a plasterer's radio!” Made me literally lol!!

AllOfTheDwarves · 17/04/2022 20:17

There was a thread where the OP had received a picture of a friend's baby in the bath and her friend's DH's penis was (accidentally) also in the photo and she was wondering whether to tell her or not.
There were some brilliant responses but the one I loved was when the discussion deviated to being about whether or not penises floated in the bath and it said something like it was more of a submerged hover and they don't bob about on the surface like a cold Duncan Goodhew.

frugalkitty · 17/04/2022 20:48

Julittarde that is my favourite ever thread on here, it was hilarious but educational at the same time!
