I’m relatively new to Mumsnet (18 months ish). After reading some absolute pearlers today re eating out and managing to make left over toddler meals last 2 days, I’m intrigued to know what are the stand out posts you remember.

Ive read classics but I’m after one liners that made you properly laugh.

Balonz?

TokenGinger · 16/04/2022 23:58
This is brilliant 😂😂

It's in Classics now, but there was one thread where the OP was seeking advice because the chicken she'd planned to cook hadn't defrosted in time. Only her auto correct changed it to 'chicken hasn't decorated properly'.

You can imagine the replies, but the one that got me was the poster who recommended she try Chick-A-Trade.

Still makes me laugh now and if MN had a Like button, I think it would win.

Horses at the Olympics is still my favourite thread ever, it was lost though as it was in chat.

Summersdreaming · 17/04/2022 00:04

"Paul, is that you?" Was very very funny, and makes me feel old Blush

I always remember the thread where the OP had pissed someone off (on ebay?) And they messaged her "I hope your rabbit dies and you can't sell the hutch". For some reason that would pop into my head at random moments and crack me up.

"I am Angela Hernandez"

And, wee baby Slithery who must be about 7 or 8 by now..

FrancescaContini · 17/04/2022 00:10

On a thread about the cost of living increase: a poster complained about the increased cost of the pine nuts that she needed for her homemade wild garlic pesto. I especially enjoyed the detail about the garlic being wild.

Aquamarine1029 · 17/04/2022 00:10

Can't remember what the thread was about due to it being several years ago, but a poster said they would rather "slam their left tit in the car door" than do what the op was writing about.

I laughed for ages over that.

There was one thread about someone quietly suffering her mother in law over a period of time. The poster seemed quite unconfrontational and mild of character but finally snapped over a fairly innocuous comment at a family meal. They were eating chicken and the MIL mentioned something about the carcass and the OP blurted out "You're the carcass!". It really tickled me somehow.

”I am Angela Hernandez"

Ahhh thank you!! I’ve just been trying to remember this one or find it via Google — couldn’t remember the name Grin

Namesrus · 17/04/2022 00:17

There was a baby name thread where OP asked what name Hugo could be a NN for? Most of the replies were very funny. Also the thread you’ve probably read it in classics about clothing visions versus reality - hysterically funny posts on that thread.

Same thread where the CSI lady fell on top of the corpse. I was genuinely howling, not fake waking the baby howling.
Squiff70 · 17/04/2022 00:20

I haven't RTFT yet so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned.

On a thread started by somebody who said they were sick of all the swearing on MN, one of the first replies (if not the first) was "Off you fuck then, cunty chops". I laughed until I couldn't breathe.

Ooh, and the lady who wouldn't leave her washing pegged out overnight in case it got "darked on".

Those are my favourites too. The Hugo one is brilliant - Hugoesthere, Hugogirl and Hugoslavia all crack me up. The OP didn't see the funny side though and posted an angry reply, leading to the best post on the thread Are you still here OP? Or did Hugoaway? 🤣
veronicagoldberg · 17/04/2022 01:05

On a thread about ridiculous pronouns, someone said "I don't know who would want to use neo-pronouns like bonk/bonks, etc." The next poster said: "Speak for bonkself", and it cracked me up. I still sometimes laugh when I think of it.

not sure if you read this thread but oh my i really enjoyed it.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 17/04/2022 01:14

Also, a thread with a brilliant typo where the OP was talking about a disagreement with a colleague and said "I turned around and urinated in my chair"

I know I'm being thick here, but what was it supposed to be?!

Also, Suzi Quatro's fat nan and up the Oxo tower!

RoyKentsChestHair · 17/04/2022 01:18

My favourite was the young man who came on and offered to help us out with our IT issues. He got his arse absolutely handed to him and my favourite post ever was along the lines of “thank fuck you’re here, I’ve just been bashing away at the keyboard with my tits and hoping for the best”.

MarianosOnHisWay · 17/04/2022 01:18

Read one just today where the poster stated

”I’ve never taken my children somewhere that serves pizza and chips”

Peak Mumsnet Grin

Fuck off you spud cunt

dipdye · 17/04/2022 01:18

Poster on here had some sort of an altercation in B&Q with another woman. Lengthy discussion etc etc.

Someone quipped, did you ask her if she wanted decking

Dunno why but I just found it so funny

dipdye · 17/04/2022 01:19

Alors, cunt for the butter

dipdye · 17/04/2022 01:19

*also

Desolé!

youvegottenminuteslynn · 17/04/2022 01:19

The one where a poor woman was having an already bloody awful time for it, then went for a swim hoping for some peace and was bitten by what she called 'a cunting seal'. I still love her for that, it made me actually laugh out loud!
