Do you think the queen is really poorly?

As in dying 😔. I know she is very old and fragile at 95 but I do wonder if she is trying to keep going until the Royal jubilee.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 14/04/2022 23:37

Think that was the Queen Mum winnie

I really don’t know.

But that is what is in my fridge so I had a guess…

SoupDragon · 14/04/2022 23:37

The speculation is vile.

Yes, she's 95 and frail but seriously, have a word with yourselves!

Aaaabbbcccc · 14/04/2022 23:37

That was at the suggestion that flights will be cancelled. Er, no.

She seemed very smiley and chirpy on that Zoom call last week. I heard she doesn’t like to use a wheelchair for her engagements so I guess if she’s unsteady she will cancel.

entropynow · 14/04/2022 23:40

@MVision

Yes she is - the newspapers have had the nod - it's why meghan and harry have come over
Well that will finish her off...
RoseWindow · 14/04/2022 23:42

I will be very sad when she dies. She’s obviously a frail human being but also alongside that a living symbol of ‘duty’ and selflessness and stoicism. She’s a reassuring presence, surviving wars and plots and generally having seen it all before. Those old fashioned values she stands for, now seem very precious with all the money grubbing and corruption in UK politics and authoritarianism and instability on the rise around the world. The way she lives for public service is not going to be repeated and I really appreciate that. I’m really glad that Harry has made it to see her, if this is sadly to be nearly the end.

ImNotDancing · 14/04/2022 23:44

@DoctorSnortles

Poor Queen. Imagine feeling knackered and poorly and then bloody Harry turns up with that wife of his. Not going to perk her up, is it?
Yeah of course let’s lay the blame on h&m rather than the Paedophile
ValerieCupcake · 14/04/2022 23:44

@chinabunny

People wonder why accusations of racism are leveled against the detractors of H&M. This thread is a great example of why; Andrew, who has done far, far more to pain the queen, has not been blamed once and yet multiple posters have rushed to lay fault at H&M's feet.
I can't stand any of them - Meghan, Harry or Andrew. I've always detested Andrew. He's a freeloader, lazy, arrogant and smug. Before anything unsavoury came out about him.

I didn't like Meghan Markle from the off. Nothing to do with her ancestry either. I'd never even heard of her. I just felt something wrong about her. Totally selfish.

I used to like Harry, but I think he's had a personality transplant since he met Meghan.

Kipperandarthur · 14/04/2022 23:47

Sadly I think she is obviously old and now frail. She seems to have lost a lot of weight as well.

It feels as though she has declined rapidly since the death of her beloved husband, and there have been considerable family issues to contend with that will have taken their toll as well.

She obviously has mobility issues now and is limiting exposure to video work.

She’s a remarkable woman, but one of very senior years and has enjoyed good health for a considerable time. I truly hope that she reaches her Platinum Jubilee as that’s such an achievement.

But at her advanced age things can change rapidly. I think it will be terribly sad when she has gone but realistically we are nearing this point.

Labracadabradoodle · 14/04/2022 23:49

I always find it astounding that whenever she is poorly, her workload is reduced to 'light duties '
She's 95 for fucks sake give her a rest like others her age.

@ChildDLA

We're on holiday atm. Due back next Wednesday, if the country's in mourning will flights be cancelled?
Why on earth would World flights be cancelled 😡?
Pallisers · 14/04/2022 23:52

Harry and Meghan have caused so much stress to the Royal family. I find if hard to believe that they have not caused her worry and great sadness. Not good at the Queens age for sure.

What stress did they cause?

Anyway I think she can handle a bit of family stress. She always has. Not going to the nazi sympathiser uncle and the various viccisitudes of Princess Margaret but the more recent stuff in her own family.
Maybe I am older than most MNs and they really don't remember the 80s/early 90s with the royal family. Annus Horribilus as the queen of england said was only the tip. decade horribilus was more like it - vulgar awful revelations to the newspapers at every turn with no thought of the children. It was a real low point.

To say nothing of the whole debacle of Diana's death and funeral when it seemed the entire of Britain went collectively off its head and the result was a 15 year old and a 12 year old forced to walk behind their mother's coffin in full glare of cameras and press from all over the world because you know ... it looked good for the family.

And yet everyone loves the cheap shot at Meghan and Harry.

Squiff70 · 14/04/2022 23:54

@theyhavenothingbuttheaudacity I guess so. I'm hoping that's all it is.

SawnWood · 14/04/2022 23:56

Will her jubilee concert and the bank holidays still go ahead if she dies before then?

@GeneLovesJezebel

Very sad that they’ve, apparently, not brought Lillibet to meet her.
Considering they named her after the woman, using a very private name too, you’d think they’d bring her. But I think there’s a lot of silly point scoring there.
Lampzade · 14/04/2022 23:57

@Gwenhwyfar

"This woman has put up with Charle's talk about wanting to be his lover's tampon being in the public arena and Diana putting it all out there about her affairs neither of them with seemingly ANY regard for the feelings of their sons. plus Sarah Ferguson and the toe sucking crap and then Andrew - what can we say about Andrew?

But it is Harry and Megan who have caused so much anguish."

You made me laugh. People have short memories.

They don’t have short memories. They just look for any stick to bash Meghan with. Some of these anti Meghan and Harry posts are ridiculous. I don’t blame them for pissing off to America . The sad thing is that they would have been an asset to the Royal Family. However, jealousy and racism prevented this from happening The Royal press rota must be having meltdowns at the moment. They missed out on this scoop.
PlasticineMeg · 14/04/2022 23:58

What stress did they cause?

Well I’d be a bit stressed if a close family member slagged me off, lied, exaggerated and aired the family’s dirty laundry to billions of people around the world.

ITSupport · 14/04/2022 23:58

Hope not! I always said I wanted to go away for a fortnight when she dies as I can’t stand the media coverage and hype that will follow

Unfortunately I’m too busy at work until mid July when I’m away for 3 weeks

16th July would be a good date!

venusmay · 14/04/2022 23:58

Yes, I've had a feeling it will be soon. So very upsetting, she's a lovely lady.

Itmustbesomewhere · 14/04/2022 23:59

I think the Queen is fine. Lots to live for. She loves her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Definitely having difficulty with walking though. Needed a more supportive, comfortable pair of shoes at Prince Phillip’s remembrance service though. I thought Andrew should have taken her to her seat. The last few steps looked perilous to me. Slip on heels and a walking stick, a thick rug to negotiate and a chair with no arm rests. Prince Charles and Camilla were oblivious with their heads in the service pamphlet.

I hope she’s got some physiotherapy exercises to keep her strength and stamina up and a good nutritionist to keep her weight stable.

It doesn’t matter how much somehow has lots to live for, though. And how do you know she loves her grandchildren and great-grandchildren? It’s always struck me that she was never much interested in children.

LilQueenie · 15/04/2022 00:08

She had covid its likely she is still getting her energy back. It can take a couple weeks at least. She also lost her husband and its likely went through a lot of emotional stress through it. It all takes its toll.
