Do you think the queen is really poorly?

As in dying 😔. I know she is very old and fragile at 95 but I do wonder if she is trying to keep going until the Royal jubilee.
@FloraPostePosts who said anything about wanting to know the ins and outs of her medical conditions?
The Palace lied about Philip when he must have been very obviously dying and in his last few days. The pretence was he is old but in good health.
So it is natural to wonder if Harry and Meghan visiting means they have been told it could be their last chance.
That is what they have said all along about the Queen simply saying it is a back condition affecting her mobility. I think they will be saying this up until the eve of her death.
He was 99 and hadent been in good health surely it wasn't a surprise to anyone when he passed away?
If the Queen passes away peacefully in her sleep surely that's what anyone would want at that time of life ,yes it would be sad for her family but it would hardly be unexpected.

Peregrina · 16/04/2022 07:38

which was set for then because the weather is nicer than actual birthday,

Except the Coronation was in June, and it rained. I don't think it was the odd shower either, I think the rain had set in.

JudgeJ · 16/04/2022 16:26

No what's pathetic is trying to blame the queen's decline on H&M without even mentioning the actual criminal in the family.

One hates to inject a dose of truth into these kinds of rants but the only one of her family with a criminal record is. I believe, her daughter who was fined for having a dangerous dog!
Odious as her second son has always been, he has never been charged with a crime.

It is well known that she is struggling with mobility and that she refuses to use a wheelchair because of the image of her sister in one

That must feel like a kick in the teeth to her loyal subjects who are wheelchair users. There's no shame in using one. Pathetic to be so stubborn.

She's 96 at that age I think she's allowed to be a bit stubborn whether she's the Queen or just a bog standard 96 year old .

*Thing is, we don't actually need to know if/when she is ill or well. She is alive = she is the Queen. She is dead = we now have a new monarch.

Why exactly do we need to know anything else?*

Ah bless ya @BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz you've not been on MN long have you? It's incumbent on the Palace to ring us first with news of anything, it's the top line of the London Bridge Operational plan Grin

@lameasahorse

The Palace tell us if someone is wearing a new dress or has told a joke. It is not as if they don't invite us to be interested in them.
I think you've over-egged that a bit!

Info on clothes is usually only 'who designed the wedding dress'

It's those in the industrynwho usually talk about it, and there's whole websites like 'What Meghan Wore' which identify stuff for those who want to know.

Not sure what you were thinking of when you mention jokes

RonaldMcDonald · 18/04/2022 15:37

I really hate the message that the Queen views being in a wheelchair as being seen as in some way weak.
The press keep this up and it is a horrible message to those who are disabled or differently abled or for those who care for others in wheelchairs
@WinnieTheW0rm there have been a whole host of articles about different jokes the Queen has made.
I've just had a google.

They all seem to be jokes the queen has made in public, which are noted and relayed, rather than things released by the Palace.

FlipFlops4Me · 18/04/2022 16:24

@chinabunny

People wonder why accusations of racism are leveled against the detractors of H&M. This thread is a great example of why; Andrew, who has done far, far more to pain the queen, has not been blamed once and yet multiple posters have rushed to lay fault at H&M's feet.
Exactly. If I were H&M I wouldn't be over keen to visit the family who had speculated about the colour of my unborn children....

If I was the Queen I'd be heartily pissed off about all this talk of my demise. I work in care but I won't speculate, though there are many older people who are wary of falls and getting frail who live for years more.

RB68 · 20/04/2022 11:54

I think she is close to the end - who wouldn't be at that age, she clearly is struggling with v swollen ankles, mobility issues etc. I am due to go to a Garden Party on 11th May and we still haven't had information through and I suspect they are holding off for this reason as of course if anything happens everything will be cancelled. I wish her as I would anyone a gentle death with friends and family around her.

uffington · 14/04/2022 21:44

Apparently her bad back is due to a bowel issue. Not sure how serious a bowel issue though.

And you are?????? The Queen's GPs receptionist??
How do you know???🤒

What information are you expecting? All we got was our invitation. I think you’ll have a long wait.

Yes probably, it's what happens when you get old, you tend to die

EdithWeston · 20/04/2022 22:23

Nice birthday pic just issued, though she does look a bit like a sorcerer

Yes ankles are clearly swollen down, but still slender compared to the Fells ponies!

Moaningturtle1 · 21/04/2022 07:09

I suspect the birthday pic was taken a good month ago, magnolias blossom much earlier than mid April.

Zonder · 21/04/2022 07:36

It depends on where in the country the photo is taken. There's a marked difference between north and south for magnolias. They have all gone here in the south but in the far north where I have family they are still just about out.

Moaningturtle1 · 21/04/2022 07:39

I don’t think she has left Windsor for over a year, I suspect it’s in the grounds of the castle. The magnolias bloomed here in early March, also the daffodils.

She is spending her birthday at Wood Farm, Philip's former home on the Sandringham estate, so she clearly has left Windsor in the past year!
