Do you think the queen is really poorly?

As in dying 😔. I know she is very old and fragile at 95 but I do wonder if she is trying to keep going until the Royal jubilee.

These threads always contain the same kinds of bullshit.

“The press have been given the nod/the journalists are on standby/my job means that I know these things.” Yada yada yada for the past 15 years I’ve been on mn.

And it amazes me that we have so many people who apparently represent God since their Hmm job appears to mean they know when someone is going to die. Grin

@Shouldbedoing
"Crumbs. Makes a nonsense of Harry's security court case though."

No it doesn't, he's had a quick visit without his children. It doesn't compare to having a publicly announced visit and having to parade his children about.

@lameasahorse, she'd worked pre marriage in a lot more than minimum wage. We'll never know the truth. She claimed that she was just financially cut off and the knives were out. Prince Phillip was blamed. Now she's been rolled back in to make Andrew look normal and her retaric has completely changed. She recently made a statement how Andrew cried real tears for Ukraine Hmm

This isn't a normal family. The Queen doesn't just have the royal children pop round. They see each other at set times. According to what's said everywhere, her seeing George is a training opportunity. Whose to say she is that interested in a baby without a title living in the US.

I had respect for her but now she's pushing us to accept Andrew, I'm losing it. She's putting him in the spotlight during the Jubilee as well. There should have been a recognition of what gone wrong and a statement. They've supported pedophiles since way back and had them use royal transport and residencies. Even the younger royals aren't getting the need for change in today's world. It isn't nice to speculate about her death, but when they sang God save the Queen at Phillip's memorial, I did wonder if it would be sung again and you can see that Prince Charles is struggling when he's around her, but has to mask.

VeganGod · 15/04/2022 07:41

Doesn't mean that feverishly speculating over the impending (or not) death of a 95 year old woman isn't crass and distasteful also.

No, but it does mean many don’t care, because she’s lost any respect they had for her when she supported him and paid his way out of it. She’s as bad as the rest of them, age doesn’t excuse her actions.

Exactly!

And now, when it's the royals being discussed, there's always a side helping of Meghan bashing too.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 15/04/2022 07:42

She’s just had Covid, which knocked the stuffing out of me and I’m about a third of her age.

Blimpop · 15/04/2022 07:51

She's 96 next week.....and had covid recently. Doesn't take a genius to work out that she's probably feeling a bit fragile!

SueSaid · 15/04/2022 07:59

She seemed bright and breezy on the televised chat she was on a few days ago.

Lovely that Harry has found the time to pop to see her privately too, I mean it wouldve been a bit off not to as he's in Europe. Wonder if they'll be any Netflix footage of it?

zafferana · 15/04/2022 08:01

@Vintagecreamandcottagepie

Harry and Megan coming over with no fanfare or warning after saying they would do nothing of the sort surely tells us something.
I think it tells us that this was a private visit by two non-working royals to see family members - end of story. I'm glad they visited the Queen and would've thought even less of them than I already do if they hadn't. This was an obvious opportunity for them to do so, when they're going to be across the North Sea from England and I'm delighted that, for once, they did it quietly and without any pictures managing to be taken.

Some of the speculation on this thread is really tasteless.

Montague57 · 15/04/2022 08:04

There is one news agency in the UK that will officially be given news of the Queens death when it happens (it’s not the BBC). Any mention of journalists being given the nod is rubbish. As odd as it may be, there is an official and planned process for announcing the news, which has been in place for years.

Tehre is officiala nd then there is gossip/leaking/chatter.

Journalists know a lot of stuff before it is official. People who work at the palace talk.

bigred22 · 15/04/2022 08:08

I can't get over people fully blaming H&M for the queens decline, she's had a lot to deal with of late and of course she's 96, how many other 96yr olds are full of energy and life!

No one knows how life is really inside the royal family, it could be toxic AF, the kind of toxicity where if M posted about it on Mumsnet would be told to go NC! Or maybe they are just a nightmare but the problem is no one really knows and when people are saying horrendous things about H&M it's pure speculation and opinion, not fact!

dottiedodah · 15/04/2022 08:09

I think she is sadly quite unwell . Cancelling engagements ,and having a visit from Harry and meghan doesn't look good really.

SueSaid · 15/04/2022 08:12

'and having a visit from Harry'

But he's in the Netherlands. It'd have been rude even for him not to pop in really. If it was because she was ill the info about the visit wouldn't have been released at all I doubt.

littlelowerdown · 15/04/2022 08:17

It’s not unusual for the elderly surviving spouse to just give up and die shortly after. I dn’t think any of us can imagine the immensity of her loss. Not just for how long they were married, but also I imagine that Phillip was one of the very few people who could understand the very unusual life she leads and who she could talk to about everything. And there’s a lot going on in her family, let’s face it. She may not want to talk to her children about things and now she does not have Phillip. Certainly for FIL this is how it was after MIL died.

The fact that she may have mobility problems and she may need use of a wheelchair at times/a lot of time doesn’t mean she’s unwell. She maybe just doesn’t want to be seen, and photographed, in one.
SueSaid · 15/04/2022 08:20

It's been reported that Prince Charles was there too, so maybe it was an olive branch and Harry trying to mend bridges. You never know.

Sitdownplease · 15/04/2022 08:20

Harry can’t win can he. Imagine if he didn’t visit the Queen with him going to the Games.

She’s 96, had Covid.

Just before he drops another bomb on them this autumn ...
Tothepoint99 · 15/04/2022 08:26

@QueefofSheena

Weird how no one has mentioned how much Prince Andrew’s behaviour would have affected her. Let’s ignore that and entirely blame H&M shall we? Hmm
Agree. Some shameless folk on here.

Anyone who can say that with a straight face clearly hasn't RTFT!

My grandma died 3 weeks (6 days after funeral) after my grandad Sad. Fit as a fiddle , albeit nearly 90, it was like she died of a broken heart
AnastasiaRomanov · 15/04/2022 08:27

Harry spent the absolute bare minimum of time in the UK , arrived on Wednesday and left the same day he met the Queen. I think that speaks volumes.

It has already been announced that Prince Charles would be in Scotland for Easter and Princess Anne has gone on a tour to Papua New Guinea
Peregrina · 15/04/2022 08:33

All that Waity Katy nonsense . No woman who knew the ‘system’ would willingly put herself in that situation, which is why Cressida left Harry.

And Charles had the same sort of nonsense, not allowed to marry Camilla who got tired of waiting and married someone else, so forced into an unsuitable marriage with a naive young girl.
