I'm not sure if Clav and the others are still on shift but if not I could do with the overtime

But Jeremy Corby... checks notes .... he at least knows what a woman is

Millicent2022 · 14/04/2022 01:36

It’s just unbelievable - gaslighting bunch of wankers as ever

Can I advise changing your username and posting the same thing again to make it look like there are more people that are saying that?

Duncin

I saw that Dan clip... it's class!

this tweet made me laugh...
"I’m hearing Dan Stevens has now apologised for his Boris Johnson joke on The One Show. Apparently, Dan had had a very busy day of work and wasn’t aware at the time that he was breaking BBC rules. He also didn’t realise he was on The One Show"
😂

And of course unless there was cheese and wine Dan would not have known he was at work.

Tobias Elwood was very eloquent on Radio 4 this morning discussing that it is possible to replace a PM during a war, that we aren't actually at war, that the war in Ukraine could carry on for many years and that we have been supporting Ukraine since 2014 with arms.

Definitely no fan of Johnson.

Johnson could of course call his own vote of confidence. If he wins, he is safe for a year. Would he do that?

Thanks cake.

peacock101 · 14/04/2022 08:16

Has he made any comment in his fine? Or will he? Any questions time?

Piggywaspushed · 14/04/2022 08:18

I mean obviously as a teacher, I don't feel like I have done a day's work until I pile into the staffroom to down prosecco and chomp on Victoria Sponge.

Fulmine · 14/04/2022 08:20

The problem is that Johnson's credibility on all issues to do with the pandemic and law and order generally is now shot. If we had a new and more deadly variant tomorrow that mean we had to introduce new restrictions, who is going to obey them knowing that the Prime Minister won't? He's never going to be able to talk about law and order issues without someone pointing out that he's a repeat offender.

Fulmine · 14/04/2022 08:26

@cakeorwine

Interesting

Westminster sources confirmed that Sir Lindsay is likely to grant a debate as soon as Wednesday next week, when MPs will vote on whether to refer Mr Johnson's conduct to an investigation by the privileges committee.

The seven-MP committee – which has a Tory majority but is chaired by Chris Bryant, a Labour MP – will then rule on whether Mr Johnson has been found in contempt of Parliament.

Definitely time for anyone in a Conservative constituency to write reminding their MPs that supporting lawbreaking is not a good look.

How long will it take the Met to work through all the events?

Benjispruce4 · 14/04/2022 08:37

We weren’t allocated to sing Happy Birthday to pupils at school at that time!!! No hymns either. Angry

I hope someone has told the French that they can't change their leader t this time and they should call off the election.

Long weekend coming up, so probably be a week at least until there are any more. The great advantage of this is, that the drip drip of poison may stay in people's minds longer as a result.
Benjispruce4 · 14/04/2022 08:43

I like this Guardian cartoon.

Boris has been fined - Part 2
ancientgran · 14/04/2022 08:45

I guess I'm quite lucky in that my Conservative MP is one who has come out and said he's sent his letter in. I had a few email exchanges with him about it a couple of months back and he is good about replying.

I'm going to email him today to ask him if he can let the powers that be know how much Michael Fabricant has upset people with his comments about teachers and nurses.

Sorry to distract with the Rwanda situation but I was surprised when a Conservative MP (didn't catch his name) said the scheme was for men, then I think changed it to mainly men. I thought about a maybe 18 year old gay man desperate to escape a country where he is likely to be killed and all we can do is send him off to Rwanda. It is heartbreaking. Doesn't it seem to be against UK discrimination legislation if this policy is deliberately targetting men?

Benjispruce4 · 14/04/2022 08:47

Unfortunately my MP supports Boris.

Blossomtoes · 14/04/2022 08:49

And mine. He’s a waste of oxygen in every way.
User7493268965 · 14/04/2022 08:50

He can't resign yet, we will miss knowing about any other fines he may get.

Roussette · 14/04/2022 08:54

Mine is on the 1922 Committee and I have written to him.
Someone linked on the previous thread about how the MPs have supported or not and there was a category of 'hostile' and he was on there, so maybe my email might help dunno. I was taken aback to see he was not totally pro the PM

Piggywaspushed · 14/04/2022 09:01

Well, mine is still Nadine Dorries. I still wrote to her, lest she say once more that none of her constituents care.

Fulmine · 14/04/2022 09:03

I'm in Raab's constituency. He's supported Johnson; on the other hand, it's a marginal constituency, and as a lawyer it's not a good look for him not to support the rule of law. Could be interesting.

I have Braverman.

She's about as useful as Attorney general as she is a local MP.

She got pulled up for supporting Cummings on Twitter before the police had made comment.

But I guess we now know why Cummings got away with his eye test test trip to Barnard Castle. Was it the photos of these parties in that briefcase he guarded with his life?!
