@katem98 cheers! Just think it could be worse you could be Putin, stuck in a bunker, paranoid and hated by millions. At least we know love and compassion ☺️

BREAKING: India reportedly cancels plans to buy 48 Mi-17 V5 helicopters from Russia

This plan is being linked to India's push to transition towards domestic-made military equipment and is not framed as a rejection of Russia. But the timing of this move, if confirmed, is striking given U.S. pressure over India's Russia ties.

The weather may be a give away. Past weather reports indicate partly cloudy during the day on 15/04 and 16/04 in that location and this looks to have been filmed around midday, give or take two hours

Heh. Just been looking in depth. It looks like 10 - 10:30 am from the shadows on the grounds. Yes, the trees look right. If you look carefully there are hints of cloud in the sky which look wispy and high but tend to disprove the idea of an entirely cloudless sky, but I'm not paying for access to the complete past weather in the last 2 days.

Would be interested to work out the bigwig's identity who was standing to the West side at first at 90 degrees to the line of sailors but needs tech skills to halt the video and extract his face that I don't have.

It might filmed to the near direct West of the Monument to the Sunken Ships in Sevastopol.

Whoever filmed it was clearly given permission to. It's not a secret clip. The asiatic looking officer's emotion was homed in on. Presumably this was filmed for some propaganda purpose (?) though in a way it seems a bit informal.

Something still doesn't seem right, but I can't put my finger on it.

Nothing to do with the way that Russian Military stuff doesn't actually seem all that good then?

Wrongkindofovercoat · 16/04/2022 20:54

Putin could launch nuclear weapons should he so wish, if they are available and in working condition, which given recent events, I wouldn't bet my life on, never mind Mr antler bath's.

littledrummergirl · 16/04/2022 20:55

The lack of any trauma on the faces. Given the ship they were allegedly on sank a couple of days ago I a war zone.

ScrollingLeaves · 16/04/2022 20:56

@ljsbear
Re the video of the rescued sailors and the weather you were noting. Adding to what you said, it also appears, and sounds, a windy day. Perhaps that is normal on any day there though.

RedToothBrush · 16/04/2022 20:56

So we go from 'bomb the fuck out of Kyvi' on Russian State TV to this...

NEXTA @nexta_tv
On Solovyov's program, they started talking about the withdrawal of troops from #Ukraine, because "the army has fulfilled its task".
twitter.com/nexta_tv/status/1515412789698912266

Subtitles read:
"Let the Ukrainians do the denazification for themselves, we can't do it for them. Do we need to get into another Afghanistan but worse? There are more people and they're more advanced in their handling of weapons. We don't need that. Enough already. The army has already completed its task. Let diplomats or some other structures solve these problems. The army can't be the decision making organ for all these things."

RedToothBrush · 16/04/2022 20:59

Jimmy @JimmySecUK
It's very revealing that pro-Kremlin figures are already explicitly advocating a withdrawal and what really stands out here is the comment - "do we need to get into another Afghanistan, but even worse?".

Jane Lytvynenko @JaneLytv
Idk, this is one of about a dozen completely contradictory things they said just today. Not sure about using it as a barometer.

Jimmy @JimmySecUK
Definitely not definitive, for sure. The Afghan reference is pretty telling though, that conflict weighs very very heavy on Russians of a certain age.

Jane Lytvynenko @JaneLytv
That's true. They're probably worried about May 9. But what a "fulfilled task" means is a whole other question entirely.

They know its a shit show. They aren't hiding that its a shit show. They are openly saying its a shit show.

MagicFox · 16/04/2022 21:00

I know, I saw this but...there's so much bullshit and lies it's impossible to know how to read this

MagicFox · 16/04/2022 21:02

And while we're getting into the 90s and before we lose each other - next thread:

Harbour city, yes, bound to be wind

Wrongkindofovercoat · 16/04/2022 21:04

That is very clever whoever thought it up.

I saw that one of the comments was ‘Someone is going to jail tonight’
Another was that either this is against the line or Putin is preparing his next move.

MagicFox · 16/04/2022 21:13

As in, against the party line? Yeah, I think this is too good to be true

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 16/04/2022 23:41

Here's some footage from Sevastopol from yesterday. Any tree experts about?

TargusEasting · 16/04/2022 23:51

Looks genuine to me @BringBackCoffeeCreams

MMBaranova · 17/04/2022 13:02

Sevastopol in mid-April.

It's still wear a coat weather. Evergreens are, well, evergreen. Deciduous trees are not in leaf but the buds are coming along well.

This webcam by the ships monument seems to be live, though the clock is out by 5 minutes.

www.geocam.ru/en/online/sevastopol-symbol/

Nakhimov square one keeps panning around and says it is live. 25 second advertisement to endure first.
